Couchsurfing

Anyone in?

how does it work? :konfused:

Sounds like AirBnB but it is FREE!

**CouchSurfing is a hospitality and social networking service accessible via a website and mobile app. Members can use the service to arrange homestays, offer lodging and hospitality, and join events such as “Couch Crashes”. The platform is a gift economy; hosts are not allowed to charge for lodging.

Yes have done that all the time only I stay with Family and Relatives :biggthumb:**

I would rather pay and have a selected accommodation whether airbnb or hotel. Dont like motels at all

ummm...no. I'm a picky people person. And a picky accommodation person.

Lots of People have that much spare living accommodations I think! you have to ask ones who do things like that!

@akaprincess I'm guessing its mostly in the cities and the reason is most cities have residents who are young, very diversified and most of them havent been living there for too long. So their acceptability for strangers is more than the usual old-school conservatives. The concept is more coming out of a desire to help others.

Had used CS up until couple of years back while living in the Netherlands but not for free lodging, only to meet travelers for socializing, showing them a bit around the city or getting tips from locals when visiting other places. Only in one instance we took in one Iranian doctoral student at Ghent university for a sleepover when he missed his connection and was in tough situation.

Girls have it lot more easy on CS - people fall over each other to offer them a place :flowers:. If you’re in young, hip age group who isn’t grounded yet, this could be your go-to place for no questions asked random hookups.

Lots of people around the world use couchsurfing to travel with low budget and meet the locals who can also serve as free tour guide. If you offer someone free residence, chances are you will get free residence when you travel away. Its best for those that travel on low budget. There are several people in Pakistan who use this service to host foreign trourists, which ultimately helps promote tourism in Pakistan.,

I am in hosting... :D

Aite guys..not sure about ya'all..but I don't like this idea of couch surfing.Ain't no one want to couch crashin at my home. Just a thought of it is very uncomfortable. Reminds me this new advert in youtube..that ya can rent your own car to some-one else. By simply..having them pay for the insurance and rental for the day.
Something like that..anyway..not for me. Nor i want to couch-surfin someone's house...

That sounds too risky.

Pagal ho travel.
