My baby is now 5 months old and much more interested in the mobile. As I said previously, we did not use it when he was a newborn, he was not interested in it, it did not sooth him but now that he can concentrate, he enjoys the mobile. When he is in a playful mood, I would put him under the mobile, he can stare the rotation of the toys and the light for at least 30-40 mins without getting distracted or fussy. When I am busy with things and can not watch him constantly, I put him in his crib as I feel he is more safe there, and the mobile helps to keep him busy. When he is sleepy, I would put him away from the mobile, tug him nicely, and just turn on the music. It helps him go to sleep 75% of the time.
Also, make sure the crib bumper is of soft color and so are the walls around the crib, it soothes and comforts babies.
Also, remember every child is different and don’t be scared if your baby proves all his GS khalas wrong.
