It's not the word - it's how it's used I guess ... In the late 70s and early 80s there were a lot of hate crimes against Asians in the UK and they were all called "Pakis" and treated badly too ... as a result there has been a reaction against that designation ... As I was growing up ... I tried to use reason to explain that those who were calling me Paki were only saying that I was pure and clean ... So I used to say "Well does that make you a Dirty?" That used to confuse them for a few seconds each time. :)

Interesting figures, abit high tho, is the 20k petrol bill for 4 cars or 4 weeks (1 tank per week?) how far are you driving wpuld make a difference
Also 25k on random. 25k would be another families whole (comfortable) budget.
**You can rent 2 bedroom floor in some parts of Lahor for 7k, **on the border of Defence. Do you really need a live in maid to be minimally comfortable? Cheaper option to get maid as and when needed. Some would add a driver and gardener to the list too.
All depends on what your idea of minimum comfort is. Like some would be uncomfortable if the garden was not watered daily.
can you give some information on those apartments? and whats the minimal stay period?

i mean if i were ever planning to come to pakistan, an apt for that rate would be totally awesome! =D, unless there is a minimal stay period. =\

People :) its not an apartment lol its where a family can live in 2 rooms. It would be inside a house, maybe ground floor, first floor. Just like the large houses in DHA are split in floors for families to live in, smaller dwellings operate the same. Im sure you know what im taking about, dont act dumb. :)
On second thoughts maybe some of you SHOULD rent and live in these places for a month to see and experiance how poorer families actually live.

Kindly keep in mind that the neighbourhood should be safe :P
People :) its not an apartment lol its where a family can live in 2 rooms. It would be inside a house, maybe ground floor, first floor. Just like the large houses in DHA are split in floors for families to live in, smaller dwellings operate the same. Im sure you know what im taking about, dont act dumb. :)
On second thoughts maybe some of you SHOULD rent and live in these places for a month to see and experiance how poorer families actually live.

I really can't imagine that and salute to him .. 10 k is what I spend on fuel here ... And you know I am hardly on ground and also use office vehicle for official transportation ..
needless to say, he is living quite a financially challenged life.
