Re: Cost of Living and salary...

Re: Cost of Living and salary…

well dat ironic ea…my skool in pk had masterz n bachelors as custodians. :bummer:

nowaday i believe bach. is 4 yrz but b4 it was 2 yrz degree. so tonz n tonz of bach n masterz increases the demand of job. whereas, other factors like coruption, bla bla wont let them to live independently :bummer:

Re: Cost of Living and salary...

depends on the quality of the degree as well i guess.

Re: Cost of Living and salary...

They can't be living in one of the cities though. Even in a village I would think it is very hard to survive on PKR 6,500 and that with 2 kids.

Re: Cost of Living and salary…

You forget, with Allah :swt:'s help, it is very much a reality…I am a witness…

Re: Cost of Living and salary...

^well are the kids going to private schools or government schools. If they are living alhamdulillah ALLAH SWT is everywhere.
Well in my opinion one should need at least 10,000 to 15000 rupees but if you want more than sky is the limit.

Re: Cost of Living and salary...

living independently in rented residence then its next to impossible, sharing residense then this is normal income in pakistan for undergraduates, workers in factories and offices, security staff etc etc..

By the way PM Shaukat aziz announced that Per capita income of pakistan has almost doubled in last few years, it is $ 925 now which makes Rs 4600 per month. An income of Rs 6500 is lot more than that

Re: Cost of Living and salary…

This was an old survey, according to recent survey New Delhi is best city to live in.
Delhi best city to live, rent highest in Mumbai but Kolkata has more jobs

Re: Cost of Living and salary...

That's the pitfall of verbatim et literatim translation.

Actual saying is:

"tete paaon pasaariye jeti lambi saur"

i.e. don't spend beyond your means or stick to your budget.

Re: Cost of Living and salary...

I know tha tin some villages people are actually able to get by, maybe because they have n other choice. But people living in cities...how do they get by with even 10,000 rupees. I don't mean to sound ignorant, but when i go back home, and we go shopping, a single outfit alone costs like 2000-3000 for average decent party suits, and that's with bargaining. Also the price of food is going up, for people living in paki its not easy to afford meat and eggs and such each day. How on earth do you even get by with even 10,000 rupees when you have to pay rent possibly, food, school, car/motorbyke, gas...etc etc
electricity, gas?
