Re: Cosmetics and ebay ..
I wouldn't just because I don't trust the sources from ebay for these things.

Re: Cosmetics and ebay ..
I've bought a couple of MAC pigments from "Top Rated Sellers" who have great reviews but I'm still not a 100% satisfied with the products. They don't have the names on the pigments which makes me doubt their authenticity. The quality I guess is alright.
Re: Cosmetics and ebay ..
Not comfortable at all, never bought cosmetics off ebay. The only things I buy off ebay are are DVDs, video games and electronics.
Re: Cosmetics and ebay ..
I bought almost all of my make up through Ebay last year and I'm 100% satisfied with it. You don't just buy it, you research it first. I even bought make brushes and eye lashes from there and they are amazing.
Re: Cosmetics and ebay ..
yehh but the packaging cud b real … n the product inside cud b fake …
Re: Cosmetics and ebay ..
well the mac sold on ebay is mostly fake.. its the "do number" ka maal - the eyeshadow palettes tht are made and sold under the MAC brand arent MAC creations, they dont have anything on their product listing that is anymore than a 14 palette.. same with brushes.. they arent sold in sets of 24 because MAC doesnt make them..
Re: Cosmetics and ebay ..
Agree with Ditzy, I've bought loads of cosmetics off Ebay, easily a couple of grands worth over the last 2/3 years. On average I pay about a third of what I would have to in the shops but sometimes I've saved over 90%.. It's usually quite easy to tell a fake from its packaging and quality once u've opened it and if you think u've been misled u can notify Paypal and ask them to issue a refund as well as Ebay itself who'll remove the listing and often suspend the seller if other buyers have also complained..
With all the discount cosmetics websites around now tho it is worth googling the name of the product before using a 'buy it now' on Ebay.. there have been a couple of times I've found a high-end foundation or mascara a lot cheaper somewhere else..
Re: Cosmetics and ebay ..
Guys, can I let you know based on my extensive research on ebay ... that 100% all big brands sold there are fake. China and hongkong are producing counterfiet cosmetic products and they are being sold in America left, right and center ... not so much in the UK , coz we have a strict law enforcement on counterfiet brands ....
Ebay is good when you decide to buy non branded makeup ... thats where you can get good deals ... and honest sellers will always tell you the real quality of the product so you keep going back to them for more ....
Re: Cosmetics and ebay ..
An ex of just how much u can save.. Non-fake YSL Teint Majeur Luxurious Foundation, £17 ‘Buy It Now’ on Ebay, regular store price £74 :):
If you’re smart there are plenty of bargains on there..
Re: Cosmetics and ebay ..
How do you know its not fake?
coz China is producing 100% fake products that are so freaking hard to tell apart from the real ones .. so far only those UK sellers who show a UK address or full contact information are the ones that are selling real stuff .. coz if they get caught they will be fined heavily for selling counterfiet products , but other then that , its all china ka maal speaking !
Re: Cosmetics and ebay ..
^Isn’t it a bit ridiculous to say that 100% of the high-end cosmetics on Ebay are fake??
I know that particular product is not fake cos I have bought from that seller before.. Anyway, isn’t it clear anyway when it says **‘eBay Top-rated seller](http://pages.ebay.co.uk/topratedsellers/index.html)’ **on there with 1600+ positive feedbacks - NO negatives (u only need to have 3 ‘fake’ complaints registered against u to be permanently thrown off Ebay). If people are unable to use judgement and common-sense I guess yeah, then they’d be better off paying three or four times more from a regular deparment store.
Sometimes a girl has bought a foundation that she thinks doesn’t match her skin and has literally just swiped it and now wants to get rid, other times there are products with boxes that have been slightly scuffed or more heavily damaged (but now they can’t be sold in stores) or unused testers with no boxes (as if it matters since most of us just chuck them away as soon as we get in), sometimes a product has been discontinued or sometimes a supplier has just gotten them at a bargain price buying them wholesale or for some other reason.. there are a million different reasons apart from the ‘it must be fake’ thing..
Having said that, I would agree that most of the MAC on Ebay is fake, as well as the Chanel mascaras (and all the others that come in that funny ‘pen’ packaging) but there is a lot of real Clinique, Estee Lauder, Lancome.. Another brand with a hell of a lot of fakes on there is Nars (mostly the palettes and eyeshadows tho, there are some genuine foundations on there as well as well as their gorgeous Body Glow..)
Saying all makeup on there is fake is like saying I bought a fake Chanel handbag on there so alll 2000 or whatever there is on there must be fake as well :smack:
Re: Cosmetics and ebay ..
CB that seller is registered as a business seller, his address and phone number are there as well (as is the case with all business sellers on Ebay).
Most of us who buy a particular makeup product regularly can easily tell when it's a fake anyway.. packaging is sub-standard (eg. not glossy like the original), often there are spelling mistakes etc. or the little leaflets that come with the foundation or whatever are wrong (eg. on 'strange' paper) or missing and this has not been mentioned in the item description..
Re: Cosmetics and ebay ..
Deeba , selling a product as new , and selling a used product are two very different catagories in my opinion. when someone has used even a tiny bit of a product, the product immediately becomes unhygienic and risky to be used by another individual. That is the reason why most businesses dont refund or exchange cosmetic products ... yes in the second hand cosmetic market on ebay , alot of products can be real ...
But as far as any big brands are concerned , 99.9 percent are fake. if you live in the UK, just do a seach on the internet and see how the police is tackling counterfiet makeup most of which is coming in through sites like ebay ... and how many people are being caught and fined because they possessed or tried to sell counterfiet makeup... in many cases they didnt even know if was fake !
Re: Cosmetics and ebay ..
For those who buy branded makeup off ebay, could you tell me some of the sellers you use. I want to buy some eyeshadows, illuminator and foundation. Which sellers would you advise?
