Correctional officers during salah

Re: Correctional officers during salah

yes, it is a requirement for a valid sajda as per Hanafi maslak at least. your elbow and forearm should not be resting on the carpet either. these guidelines are for a valid sajda...if you lack, well...Allah will forgive you if you don't know about it...but, one should learn to do the namaaz correctly.

Re: Correctional officers during salah

See, that's what it should be about, to learn something from each other without getting so offended, not necessarily agree with each other.

Rainbow, the way I've been taught to perform sajda is that my forehead, nose and hands (palms and all fingers) and of course feet and knees should be touching the ground.

Re: Correctional officers during salah

You know what i cant stand?? its these same correctional officers that are standing next to you during taraweeh burping their iftari back up. But if you tell them that its disturbing you they get all offended. Like their burped up iftari is supposed to smell like a bouquet of flowers :/. Today some old uncle jee burped soo loudly i lost my train of thought and forgot what i was reading. Smelt so bad i nearly lost my balance :/

Re: Correctional officers during salah

Gross! This must have been you at 1:25 :stuck_out_tongue:

Re: Correctional officers during salah

:hmmm: Next time pray next to a younger uncle? jk

Burping is a natural reflex and I think everyone would agree that the act was unintentional. Perhaps the poor older uncle has GERD.

Re: Correctional officers during salah

His burping was anything BUT natural. btw diwana…im a huge fan of yours. Can i start a Diwana fan club on GS??

Re: Correctional officers during salah

lol. Please don't.

I was kidding you know. :D

Re: Correctional officers during salah

awww mann why not?? :bummer: cmon. Just think of what it could do for ur GS cred. Not that its lacking in anyway. But think about it!! Let me take you to greatness

Re: Correctional officers during salah

Oh goodie, let me think. :hmmm:

One second passed…

Okay! You got me convinced. Where have you been all this time? :naraz:

Re: Correctional officers during salah

YESSSSSS!!! you wont regret this :D. Ive been around. The question is, where have you been?? Your absence from GS is always a very heart wrenching one :frowning:

Re: Correctional officers during salah

Really? I am speechless but I am sooo happy. You finally saw what no one could see!

But who cares now.

Going to distribute sweets to neighbors.

So they get diabetes. The always talk bad about me.

Re: Correctional officers during salah

would tell them in private after they are done with prayers

Re: Correctional officers during salah

I do not mind listening to someone trying to correct me. It never hurts to listen.

Correcting someone is different. If this is someone i know, I'll certainly tell them what I think is right

Re: Correctional officers during salah

how many of you know that when doing sajdah, one should directly go into sajdah instead of sitting and then doing sajdah? And after doing the second sajdah, one should stand directly instead of sitting first then standing..I didnt know until last year..and Iv seen alot of women doing it wrongly..

Re: Correctional officers during salah

i didnt know that :bummer:

Re: Correctional officers during salah

i think one of the MOST important things in doing namaaz is NOT rushing through it...every act [arkaan] is supposed to be done properly...i've observed that people tend to hurry up a lot...you have to give enough time between the two acts...especially when standing up from ruk'uu position [people do NOT give a pause of say about 2-4 seconds] and similarly between the two sajda [their back is NOT even straight before they go back to sajda] and when you do salaam phero...

also, people look in all directions while it should be mostly focused at sajda gaah. and, last but NOT the least, one should NOT make unnecessary moves [like changing postures, scratching, sniffling etc]

jo faraiz e namaaz haiN vo to apnii jagah haiN hii...yeh bhii baRe ahm umoor haiN.

Allah ham sab ko saHeeH Dhang se namaaz paRhne kii taufeeq 'ataa farmaaye...aameen

Re: Correctional officers during salah

For women, it is practically impossible to go into sajdah without sitting down first. We're required to rest on our left buttock and take both our feet out to the right before going into sajdah. I was trying this out when praying Zuhr and there's no way you can go straight into sajdah without sitting down first.

If I'm wrong, provide a reference and correct me.

Re: Correctional officers during salah

This is nothing wrong with being corrected. There is always something to learn in Islam. But the manner of how to correct someone is the issue. I was watching a lecture of a local scholar and he said it perfectly: Our duty is to convey, not convince.

I believe one should always learn and be reminded of how to pray Salah according to their school of thought. It's something that we learn at our weekly halaqa at least once a year.

Re: Correctional officers during salah

Thats the right way of doing it.

BTW, there are so many sects that sometimes i don't know whether people are making a mistake or that how they pray in their fiqh.

Re: Correctional officers during salah

I meant to post this here last night:

All the Arabs cover their feet and wear socks which is fine but they always tell us Pakistanis that we have to cover our feet. Just today a lady told my younger sisters she has to cover her feet its haram to have them show while praying. :smack: I personally think little things like this don’t make a difference so we shouldn’t nit pick and tell others to do exactly as we do.

So question is does one have to cover their feet while praying or not?
