i have always used corelle but never luminarc. a friend got luminarc from pakistan and loved it.

we have both in our home. Luminarc is lively & beautiful and lasts long. Correlle is good too I have already broken so many items from my correlle jahez set

I have owned corelle for 11 years and haven’t broken one thing. I also like their new square plates and patterns.
Mom and the rest of family have owned for 25 years. I am surprised diamond that you have broken items . They are build to last except the glasses.

I'm a big fan of Corelle, and I've never broken anything either..don't know anything about Luminarc..

Not sure about Luminarc but i have corelle dinner sets from my shadi and i have broken several cups and plates Luckily i live 2 hours away from an outlet mall where i can get replacements. Unfortunately my cups have overtime gotten scratches in them which i am guessing are because of a cheap dish washer detergent i had to use a few times.

Corelle is also available in pakistan and is cheaper than here.....the old designs are 10 k for a 6 piece set. As for use......they are both almost the same they both chip or break but yes my lumiarc has never had a single scratch.

My family has always used Corelle. My mom has had her Corelle sets for 15 yrs+ and never had problems :)

corelle do break and chip. in 15 years of daily use of corelle, had few breaks but many of my plates chipped.

I really really really really want the Corelle Old Town Blue set, but it's not even available on their website...it's discontinued. :(

Corelle plates and cups etc do break but not always.The patterns of Corelle in Pakistan are different from what I have sen here in the US and I thought it was more expensive there.
My mom has used Luminarc and I own a few sets of their mugs from Pakistan.They are nice quality and different patterns.
For me both are nice dinner wares for everyday use.
