This year, the blessed month of Rabi-ul-Awwal almost coincides with the month of April. During this time, some will intensify their efforts to inculcate more Sunnats in their lives whilst others will be 'fooling' none but themselves as they prefer to imitate the ways of the Kuffaar. The Ulama have cautioned that whenever any Sunnah is abandoned, it is automatically replaced with an innovation. Sayyiduna Abdullah ibn Mas'ood t is reported to have warned the Ummah, 'If you abandon the way of your Prophet [sallallaahu alayhi wasallam], you would certainly deviate.' (Sahih Muslim Hadith1486).
In the light of the above, we can now understand why Rasulullah [sallallaahu alayhi wasallam] had expressed himself with the following, 'Hold on fast to my Sunnah (code of conduct) (Sunan Abi Dawud Hadith4599; Sunan al-Tirmidhi)
