Coordinating accessories for girls on a mehndi

So guys usually have their dupattas to designate whose side they are on, and no matter what they’re wearing, the dupattas help tie them together.

What can girls do to coordinate on a mehndi, apart from wearing the same outfit?

Re: Coordinating accessories for girls on a mehndi

best way to cordinate on mehndi is wearing same style or same outfits or all girls can wear same type of flower jewellry and flowers on hairs

Re: Coordinating accessories for girls on a mehndi

Wear the same color
Wear the same design of dupatta (a while back these fancy dupattas with gota and stuff were out, so all the girls could make an outfit around that dupatta)
Wear the same style of clothes (ie shalwar kameez, lehnga, gharara etc)
Wear the same kind of hair accessories so all the girls wrap their braids with the same kind of flower necklace...thingy
You can go even minute and wear the same hair accessories or something.

i like it when they use the same color or materials just diff cuts of dresses

wowwww nice

Re: Coordinating accessories for girls on a mehndi

Same parandha, khussay, tikka, flowers in hair, or same colour of clothes.

I like this idea.

Re: Coordinating accessories for girls on a mehndi

We have a lot of close family friends and family that I would want to be included in this, but I don't think I can ask them all to coordinate everything. We can suggest colors or styles, but I don't think they will stand out that much from the bride's side. I like the idea of the parandas, but then the hijabi girls can't participate.

We were consider hair clips/pins.

Re: Coordinating accessories for girls on a mehndi

For my sister's mehndi we decided on a color...the girls on our side wore green...but then it was not a lot many of us so it was easy to coordinate.

Re: Coordinating accessories for girls on a mehndi

Same chooriyan??

Re: Coordinating accessories for girls on a mehndi

at a mehndi I went to, We all had the same flower bracelets made out of yellow flowers.

Re: Coordinating accessories for girls on a mehndi

Most common and cheapest is probably flowers in hair.

I would probably decide which type of flower and the colour early on so people can prepare. However, I think it's better not to, i've had people tell me to which colour I need to wear but if it doesnt compliment my outfit then why will I wear it. I had already chosen my outfit and could'nt afford to buy a new one especially for a flower in my hair.

One mehndi I attended, all the girls were wearing the same colour bands around their arms. I dont know the Pakistani name for them though. They were made out of material and they tie around your arm, not rubber bands!

Re: Coordinating accessories for girls on a mehndi

apart from the same colour dresses, my girls will have the same flower in their hair, as well as the flower bracelets! :D

Re: Coordinating accessories for girls on a mehndi

How about color...choose two colors, they can make any styles they want....like green/ orange, green/yellow, yellow/orange, etc That can be much doable. You can also have all ladies wear gajras.

Re: Coordinating accessories for girls on a mehndi

Thanks, all!

Mills, don't you think that if the clip is a sort of typical mehndi color it will "go" even if it doesn't match?

wow. love the last pic.

Re: Coordinating accessories for girls on a mehndi

im getting all the girls to wear bindiyas on teh mehndi day... for my wedding mom made matching outfits for all the cousins (12 girls).

for my bro's wedding ... we dont wanan do taht again... cuz its a a guy's wedding... so men in the close family will wear matching dupattas and kameez' and the girls will wear bindiyas. usually u dont see bindays in mehndis.. mostly are worn during barat day... so ya... should look good.

hair flower thing was a thought but hijabans woudl feel left out... and its nto the same effect if they were to tie it elsewhere... the bindiya works for them too.

Re: Coordinating accessories for girls on a mehndi

Bandhani printed outfits are really a lot of a fun and come in so many bright colors and styles i think that's a great way to tie things togethe. HSY did that for a bride on her mendhi and her guests did it also, it was very fun. also when i go to gujurati garbas and such all of the girls wear bandhani lengha cholis or chanya cholis and look fab. you can instead get this print in neon oranges and greens and hot pinks and purples and do salwar kameez in different styles. One churidaar, another gharara, another patialia, dhoti, dhaka, bell bottom, lengha etc.

I'm thinking they can be pinned by the ear as well.
