And for a change, try instant cheesecake pudding for filling the pie.
No vanilla extract is not the same as vanilla essence.
Vanilla essence is just plain yucky synthetic fake stuff that doesn't even taste of vanilla but it's cheap and chips which is why people still use it.
Vanilla extract is the real deal and once you've used it you'll never go back to the essence. It smells very erm, vanilla-ry and you only need a drop or two for an entire cake.
4-6 egg whites whipped till fluffy or peaks form.
Whip the egg yokes seperately and add to them:
1 tsp red chilli powder or 1/4th tsp garam masala and 1/8th tsp lemon pepper
1 bunch spring onion greens finely chopped.
2-3 jalapeno green peppers
4 button mushrooms sliced
1 halal sausage sliced finely
1/4th medium red onion diced (small squares or you can chop it)
Preheat oven to 350 degrees baking time 20 mins
Fold (dont whip it together, just mix in softly with a wooden spatula) in this yolk mixture into the egg whites in a baking dish (pyrex). Add slices of cheddar, or pepper jack cheese or shavings of mozerella on top, garnish with some chopped corriander if you wish.
Bake for 20 mins- the mixture will rise and the top will be golden brown. Test the centre with the knife or pick and if it comes clean then its ready.
Remove from oven, let cool for 5 mins, slice in pie wedges and enjoy with chilli garlic sauce or alone. Its a complete meal in itself.
