My mum always encouraged me and my sister to focus on our education and extracurricular activities rather than help in the kitchen :) Her favorite line was Abhee mazaa kar lo, baad me ye sab karna hi hai. So I knew very little cooking growing up. Everything I learnt was after I came to the US. By the time I got married, I was an average cook. I started exploring different dishes and cuisines after marriage, now I can say I'm a decent cook.

Yes I was a decent cook before marriage. Now I am a good cook and enjoy cooking.

Yeh, my mom never let me touch anything. Then, she left for a month on vacay and I was forced to learn lol. I'm a decent cook, I'd say.

Before marriage I had only cooked a couple of things. But after I got engaged I started watching youtube videos, even though I didnt try anything. Then when I got married, I started using Shan Masalas, and after about a month, I started using my own masalas and trying recipes from youtube, or from my mom or from my MIL. I have to say, in 10 months, I have become a pretty good cook! And I really enjoy cooking as well, so that helps. Now if someone wants to come clean my house, Im happy to let them!
