Reservations :D
Re: Cooking with kids
I think most recipes can be adapted to make them child friendly.
Baking is always the best way to ease them into cooking as you can involve the kids in most of the stages i.e help beating the cake or biscuit batter, whisking eggs, greasing tins, sifting flour (very popular!), rolling dough, decorating etc etc.
Re: Cooking with kids
sometimes www.nickjr.com has some recipes.
Re: Cooking with kids
Foodnetwork.com, they have a whole segment on cooking with kids with videos and recipes and all.
My mom used to let us make pizza when we were litle, we got to sauce the pizza and pick out our own toppings,it used to be so much fun, or when she would give us dough and we would have roti cook off, my poor dad was the judge he ate a whole lot of uncooked rotis.

Re: Cooking with kids
just a few ideas
take small frying pan put in a little oil add a pinch of haldi and coriander powder and cumin
take a some Chipsticks (those potato stick crisp things that are made with potato and maize flour) and put them in and press down with back of spoon
as they warm up they will stick together (slightly) and turn crispy... turn over (you may have to slide onto a plate and turn that way) cook the other side mean time break two eggs one top (like fried egges)sprinkle with sliced spring onions and some pepper cover till egges are cooked.
to be eaten with tomato ketchup.
You may have made these
take cake mixture divide into a about 4 bowls add a drop of red food(vegtable, non toxic) colouring to one bowl, green to another, blue to another and chocolate to the last and either put alternate spoonfuls of the mixture in a large cake tin and bake into a large cake or a few teaspoons in fairy cake paper cups and bake.
take a packet of Ginger biscuits (the hard round type)
get the kid to dunk in orange juice and then sandwich two with some whipped cream (or canned cream) put more cream on top add another biscuit and continue doing it till you have a tower of biscuit, cream ,biscuit, cream and so on... carefully lay on its side and cover the whole thing in cream
put in fridge for about half a day and then slice it up and eat...
Re: Cooking with kids
on saturday I was watching jamie oliver, how he made ice for kids.
some different types berries .. can take the frozen ones .. mix with some fresh yoghurt and honey to your taste in a mixture.. mix all and put into a ice form and let it rest in the freezer for one hour.
another thing, he made minestrone (sp?) vegetable soup.. this soup is really great for kids and adults.
he took different types of vegetable .. like ghobi .. onion .. pees .. beans and any spring vegetable ... let ur kids cut the vegetable.. fry the veggie in some olive oil .. then put in one or two can of tomatos .. can use fresh ones too .. some noodles (make small pieces of spagetti noodles) at the end water or chicken soup .. let it cook till tender and serve with pamasan cheese and some corinader at the top ..
add salt and black pepper according to your taste..
