I just love the way he cooks, it’s so fascinating to watch him make perfect meals in no time. He also gives good tips and is not like the most normal cooks on TV shows. His way of cooking and explaining is simple but yet the result seems so tasty. Has anyone tried some of his recipes ? I am thinking of getting his books and videos to try more of his stuff.
I love Jamie Oliver, his style of cooking is so laid back. I went to his restaurant last year in London and the food was excellent. I definetely recommend his cook books, especially his "Naked Chef" book.....it has the best chocolate torte recipe.
Thanks Shahreen, so what is the name of his restaurent ? I really do love his recipes, especially while I can relate to his way of cooking and tried some his recipes myself, allthough I need some more pratice but this way of making pizzas had me hooked on them. I will go to a bookstore and look for his "Naked Chef" Book. I wonder how he got the nickname 'the Naked Chef', he's really brilliant.

Anyway, in one of the episodes, he actually goes into my uncle's shop to do his groceries. My uncle and aunt were on t.v. :)

I call Jamie the “Alternative Chef”. His presentation style is very casual and that’s what I like about him. I also like Alton Brown. He is such a cooking nerd.

Saadia, he has two restaurants but the one I went to was called Fifteen. Not sure why he's called the Naked Chef but I would imagine that its something to do with his 'back-to-basics' approach to cooking.
Funnily enough the company that produced his documentary also produce the 'Two Fat Ladies' cookery programme......not sure if you have ever seen this one. Its about two fat ladies (obviously) who ride around england on a motorbike and sidecar and cook in various location. Sounds interesting but the food they cook is pretty gross and always contains a bucket of lard somewhere in the recipe.
Actually I've just realised how much useless Jamie Oliver knowledge I know......and thats not even half of it!

well Two Fat Ladies style of cooking is supposed to be traditional english cooking, its just that no one seems to eat the kind of food they cook anymore. It takes too long, uses gross ingredients and is quite fatty food too.

haha shahreen, call me wierd but I really love watching cooking shows and especially the british ones, they are better then german ones and I like the way the speak also, the accent :) Well we have one british channel on cable. I think I have seen the 'Two fat ladies' but they don't show this too often on BBC prime ?? I also like 'Ready Steady Cook' with two teams that have to cook within 20 minutes. The german TV has a german version but that's not so interesting, but this must be because of the blond lady who is the moderator, she is not so funny & witty as the black guy on bbc prime.
ps. I wish I had more UK channels.
Oh so at least I'm not the only one......my husband finds it funny that I watch so many cookery programmes yet rarely cook. Ready Steady Cook is pretty good too, that Ainsley is very funny guy......all the Suzy Salt and Percy Pepper talk.

i had to write about the guy in my exam...they gave me a whole page outa his book,to read n analyse.it was inyteresting to read about his childhood,cute lad.
He's so cute - lisp n all and I also love watching him.
Once he made these mushrooms baked in the oven with this butter and herbs - looked so yummy!

Nope...it was regular cooking like he always does. I think he just went into my uncle and aunt's convenience store/corner shop to get some milk or something like that ... :)

No unfortunately, I don’t know her. But there was this show, where two men went to the houses of the people and cooked with or for them with what was in their fridge. Not a bad idea I suppose.

Saadia, I think I have seen the programme you mean.....although I am sometimes suspicious as to whether some of the ingredients have been placed in the fridge by the chefs themselves - all the recipes seem to come together a little too perfectly if you know what I mean. In real life you'd be dashing to the shops every 5 minutes to pick up some ingredient you needed!

Nigella Lawson is a fat woman who doesn't know how to cook but uses Jean Paul Gaultier cooking utensils and speaks with a larnie accent.
But I still enjoy watching her. :D
