3-4 table spoon would do.. it depends on the quantity of rice..
i used alot cuz i like khilay khilay shining karte hauy rice :p
thanxx..i will just try it and see how much i will need.
you can also add lemon juice to keep it from sticking! are you sure you aren't just adding too much water??
the way i make rice is i boil till its half cooked, adha kacha pakka, then drain out the water, cover and cook on very very LOW heat until its fully cooked! i'd say this would take 5 mins or so! this way, you get rid of a lot of the starch in water!

thats how i make rice too.
but i add vinegar instead of lemon juice (its all the same)
hmm, i usually soak the rice for about half and hour, tehn just boil the rice in plenty of water, and then drain it out in a colander.. that way, i get fluffy, separate grains :)
i hate sticky rice, it's only for sushi :o
The volume of water should be one and a half times that of rice, secondly always add rice to boiling water.

shoot!! i made rice yesterday...and didn't add lemon juice ..khair will add next time. i tried it with butter and i think it was better than before.
if i use 2 cups of rice then i add 4 cups of water.
i made baryani (using shan packet spice) and it turned out to be quite good.
