Cooking lovers

I am the one. :clown:

I haven’t turned 20 as yet, but i can cook almost anything. Exams are round the corner and each time i need a break from studies, i am standing in the kitchen. Yesterday it was ras malai, day before yesterday it was sesame fried chicken. Right now i am on allrecipes again to search for something chocolate-y. I mean i would never get fed up of cooking. :halo:

So girls, how much do you love cooking? Or hate it? How much experimentation do you do, and whats the general trend with experimentation. Is it a plain flop, or you do well?

Re: Cooking lovers

Re: Cooking lovers

I hate cooking but I love food(eating). It’s a curse, I tell you :bummer:

Actually I hate the routine ka khana pakana(salan roti) but do enjoy things that are a bit off the routine.

I don’t find cooking to be difficult as such but the hating part does make it hard for me to get started. I like to experiment with dishes and more often than not they do turn out pretty good.

Re: Cooking lovers

I actually love cooking when I'm not tired.

I enjoy cooking but not everyday cooking. I enjoy cooking for ‘dawats’. I still don’t cut the onions or mince garlic etc. I also don’t like touching meat. I have a box of latex gloves

Re: Cooking lovers

I lover cooking - but do need to be in the mood for it. For me cooking is all about feeling and passion, if I'm in a bad mood or very tired it reflects in the food. But I'd happily spend a few hours cooking on a day off.

Before I got married I'd do the dawat ka khana (korma's, biryani's etc), and other cusines but not really everyday curries, daal or veg. Now I do everything and really enjoy it. The problem for me is a) deciding what to cook and b) mustering up the energy to cook after a long day's work as most days I don't get in before 7.45pm.

Re: Cooking lovers

Gina , I too have a closet full of latex gloves :omg: … I wear them the minute i get into the kitchen each day … and do everything in them … some ladies that have seen me do work in gloves think its crazy :cb:

I loooooove cooking … the only hard bit is getting into the kitchen … but once i am in , ohh boy, my life changes :omg:

Re: Cooking lovers

i really enjoy cooking too. i found it to be quite a relaxing activity to do in between endless piles of coursework and studying for exams. i don't cook every single day but atleast 2-3 times a week i cook up something yummy. last thing i made was chicken jalfrezi. my best dishes are chicken biryani, tarka daal and kofte... im hungry now lol

Sounds like me!!..

Before I got married I used to love cooking and experimenting…because I didn’t have to I guess. But now it’s a daily chore,I get fed up and sometimes say ‘roza rakh lo aaj’.

However,I do like trying new recipes…and I still want to learn to make nihari from scratch.

Re: Cooking lovers

i love cooking, so much, i am always trying out new things

Re: Cooking lovers

i heart cooking but clean-up and doing the dishes is ordeal.

Re: Cooking lovers

I love cooking too but I don't spend more than an hour at a time. I wish I had more time to spend in the kitchen but my job that includes extensive travel doesn't allow it.

Re: Cooking lovers

I love cooking (minus all the mess and dirty dishes) and trying new recipes and taking pictures of my results afterwards (as u know already by now:D)..

So its the same for most of the girls, no cleaning, no cutting, no touching meat but love being innovative:halo:

The best part is when the attempt is appreciated:halo:

well there is no harm in expressing your choices. i dont mind cleaning, but cleaning after preparing food is really something i dont like to do. but its not like some helps comes in. i still have to do it, if not that day may be next day.

Re: Cooking lovers

usually cleaning bit can be done along with the cooking really …

I usually clean saat saat while the dish is cooking , things like ( knives, bowls , spoons, cutting board , chopper etc ) …

and then when preparing lunch or dinner , I just scoop the dish out into the container and put it in the fridge .. it doesnt seem like a chore when its being done along with other things … :hmmm:

Re: Cooking lovers

I love cooking! But then I have phases of not wanting to go near the kitchen.
I enjoy experimenting-but some recipes should never be tampered with.
Funny thing is I use to look for an excuse to cook for loads of people...but now it's just a struggle to cook for other half.
I seriously don't like cleaning...
