And other sayings…do you guys believe them or is just in our heads?
For instance, I’ve heard a friend say that her in-laws love her cooking because she cooks from her heart. It reminds me of the novel, Like Water for Chocolate, where the culinary creations would reflect the emotions of the main character who is an adept cook. If she’s depressed, her food will induce tears…so on and so forth. So, people, do you believe that your emotions influence the end product?
How about the saying that handmade tastes better. So, do you think there’s a difference in the taste of haath ki roti and one made by rotimatic? And this can apply to other foods too, not just roti.
I believe sandwiches taste better when someone else makes them.
The saying that 'Moms are the best cooks." I have come across moms that are not the best cooks, but I think their kids are used to the cooking and for them it’s the best. So, there can be a bias. For me, it wows me that my mom can make a simple dish like an omelet taste amazing…cuz I’ve a long way to go in terms of culinary skills. :sid:
So, people what are some food sayings you’ve heard and do you believe in them?
I grew up hating microwaves, even my brother still wont eat anything heated in microwave.
when my cooking is not liked by hubby he would say that i didnt put my heart in.
I do believe there are certain foods that taste better as the days go on. Like lasagna and nihari, etc. Hard to explain…it’s like the flavors become richer much after they’re cooked.
definitely. i’m a novice and i’ve been told that my food tastes better than what people have had from seasoned cooks, and it’s down to how careful and basically enthusiastic i am about making it.
the couple of times i’ve done the cooking while taking it as a chore, i’ve ended up with pretty mediocre food.
