Cooking for a mixed age party-would this menu work?

So my little one will MashAllah be three soon and I’m planning in advance. Previously I cooked two separate meals-one for the adults and one for the children. However this year I don’t want to do that as I’d like to cut the workload down with a baby around too. The party starts around 1:30 so I’ll provide food but not a heavy meal as such.

My menu so far is this:

homemade chicken lollipops and chips

Tortilla wraps (egg mayo, tuna & sweetcorn and bbq chicken come to mind)

pasta with keema sauce-may change this to pizza fingers

Chaat bar-more for adults really. Will include dahi baray and a few other items that will bulk it out for those who are hungry

Drinks: hot drinks for adults as well as a pitcher of mocktail (not sure which one may invent one) Children will have cartons of juice

Pinata will be filled with sweets

Cupcakes will be the dessert alongside fruit kebabs

What do you guys think? There will be children from the age of 1.5 years to adults at the party. I’m catering for people including those who don’t eat spicy food.

I think if you incorporate hamburgers or sliders somehow then the menu will be complete. The rest looks good to me.

^That’s a good idea. Tortilla wraps and burgers are both sandwiches…so just make one of them; not both. With the tortilla wraps, you’d have to make three different fillings. If you want to decrease the work load…the only thing you have to cook is the patties/kababs…and then all you have to do buy buns from the grocery store, put a tray of sliced tomatoes and other veggies for the burgers, and set out the ketchup/mustard/mayo/relish. You already have a chicken dish, so use beef for the kababs. Go with pizza fingers instead of keema pasta cuz you already have meat dishes…and the chaat bar will be filling. In the chaat baar you can include chana chaat along with dahi baray.

you can also keep finger fish and prawn balls.
add baked potatoes too.

Do Burgers keep well in the oven? I’m thinking of having the majority of work done beforehand.

Re: Cooking for a mixed age party-would this menu work?

^I don’t see why not. You can bake em in the oven the day of the party.

Yes you can keep them warm in the oven. Or you can warm them up in the oven right before assembling.
