Do your cooking habits change during the summertime?
The last few weeks, I’ve stuck to really simple stuff…like just 1 dish (instead of 2-3) or a salad or pre-cut all the onions/tomatoes etc, b/c I can’t bear to stand in the kitchen for very long nowadays. I have a fan but i find it gets in the way of my cooking
So what do you do?
Re: Cooking during the summer
I agree with you Sara, it is really hard to stand in a hot kitchen when it's boiling hot outside.
I tend to cook foods that don't require the oven to be used (as this lets off more heat) and obv do the opposite in the winter, where more oven baked dishes are cooked as they are more warming and hearty.
In this kind of weather we eat light, so loads of salads, veggie dishes, fish etc.
We also tend to eat slightly later in the summer as it tends to get cooler towards early evening. Sometimes we eat al fresco.

Don't cook, have cheese and crackers instead.

You can resort to dishes that require less time. Meatballs, dam kabab are really quick ie if you have meatballs etc at hand.
We have onion paste, ginger garlic paste, tomato puree also readily available and that saves a lot of time(specially required for cutting and then frying onions).
Also, instead of standing in the kitchen and continuously stirring if you cover the pot and let your food cook on low flame for a while, it turns a lot better.
