Cookery tips and advice here

Following Nadia’s racist and sexist propaganda against cooking skills of Pakistani males, it’s the right time to repair the damage done to our image so I’ll take the lead by providing my own recipes starting with a mexican dish, chicken fajitas (pronounced fa-hee-tas).

Ingredients:

roughly a pound of boneless chicken cut into thin strips.
1 jar of Discovery 2 -step fajita sauce
a few tortilla wraps
guacomole
sour cream

Method:

Put on apron over t-shirt while admiring biceps. place chicken into frying pan along with spices provided and stir in with 2 tbsps oil (apron will protect from any flying hot oil).

stir and heat till thoroughly cooked and brown. Add sauce and bring to the boil for roughly a minute. Serve immediately wrapped in tortilla with guacomole and sour cream. (enough to serve 2-3 people here).

:rotfl: :hehe:

Naaah, not something I would try.. (it’s too easy )

It doesn't taste very good either. These ready made jar sauces are a waste of time.

Got more recipes?

Looks like ur more into admiring biceps than cooking :hehe:
What if you don’t have any biceps to admire? :frowning:

PS) Looks like Nadia was right after all.

wear a long sleeved shirt in that case

anyway, I was thinking that if I had made a salaN with the chicken the tortillas would have tasted a lot better with that.

I’ll keep the rcipes coming, and also handy cooking tips and advice which I’ll gladly pass on

^

So what CAN you cook? (serious question)

Lots of things, and I’ll put up more recipes later.

Here’s a couple of kitchen tips which will come in handy in the meantime:

When boiling eggs, bring the water to a boil first then lower the egg/s into the pan. Always use a timer and you’ll get them just how you like them every time :k:

Another tip is to avoid ready-meals because it’s highly processed food and fresh stuff is much better. If you do buy this stuff though, it’s always a good idea to follow the heating instructions to the letter. So if it says the oven should be pre-heated then it’s a good idea to pre-heat the oven rather than sticking it straight in.

I know a recipe for "Chillie Chicken"... it's a chinese kinda like dish... Made with minimum ingredients.. But tastes awesome..
And as the name suggests.. Very hot. So keep some water ready, in case you can't stand too much mirchain!

all famous chefs are men :-)

Re: Cookery tips and advice here

Xtreme, have you actually prepared the above recipe by yourself, independently? i am impressed.

Sorry about making that comment earlier (in the other thread); with the benefit of hindsight i realize that was not the most intelligent comment to make.

i am sincerely sorry about that, i hope you weren’t offended.

i am hugely impressed :k: The fajitas recipe sounds delicious. :flower1:

That's so cute Mr X!

You remind me of Darrel Bristol Bovey, the author of the satirical and hilarious, "The Naked Bachelor" :)

n with all this hype, this is ur best shot?!?! i was expecting better :hoonh:

Nadia,

yes I did prepare the above recipe myself but it turned out fairly disappointing through no fault of my own. If I'd made that stuff myself instead of buying that ready made junk no doubt it would have been absolutely fantastic.

For those of you prefer desi cooking here are a couple of hot tips:

  1. When making rotis, remember to flip-flop them alernatively with both hands then chuck it down on the tava for cooking authentically (no rolling pins).

  2. Handis should be stirred occasionaly while cooking so the stuff doesn't get burned - the correct term is "handi thallay na lag jayay"

Aleezay and the rest of the GS girls should probably write this down somewhere for future reference because most of you probably aren't even capable of peeling a spud.

Please speak for yourself, the “rest” of us will speak for ourselves :queen:

u dont know wat im capable of :smash:

heheheeeeeee :-)
