I have two pressure cookers but both of them are useless because their plastic rings (that fit into the cover) have become loose so the steam escapes.
One is a no name pakistani cooker and the other is Fresco that I purchased from Canadian Tire, any tips where I can find rings for these cookers. I don’t want to buy new cookers. Please help.
They are called Pressure Cooker Gas Kits . They are of standard sizes . you can call some Indian grocery stores in your area and see if they have them. They usually have them in stock.
You have to take yours to the store to make sure that you are getting the right size, the new one might be a little smaller than your present one which gets expanded due to use.
Mirch any other place online that might carry them. I will check out the indian stores but I haven't seen them there so far.
Last time I checked online they were asking 22 dollars at Sears I guess , but I was not sure if they had the right size for mine. So I ended up buying from a local Indian store. You might have to ask them if they carry those, because , I saw something similar being their cashier counter and asked what those were then she told me they were gaskets for pressure cooker so next time I visited I took the old one to make sure that I buy the right size.
ooh, off topic but don't put the fresco one in the dishwasher! we did that last week and it stripped the aluminum finish off the entire pressure cooker! it had to be thrown out. gah!
^Thanks SGC, I haven't put the fresco one in the dishwasher (not used since I got here ) but did put the pakistani cooker in the dishwasher and it is more heavy base than fresco so it was alright.
