Converted

I met this person today in Kansas City who was a born muslim. He became Christian 10 yers ago. As a child he never used to practive Islam but he believed in Allah and about ten yeras ago he start reading about Christianity and decided to convert. I had a very long talk with him and convinced him that he made a bad choice and he decided to read about Islam. He did not promise me that he will convert back but he will read and study Quran..

I am so proud of myself…

you should be.

i for one, find it very hard to preach. i guess because i need a lot of preaching myself.

r u suggesting he made a bad choice by converting to christianity? who r u to tell him that he was wrong about his decision? whats right for him may not be right for u, doesnt mean he was wrong in doing what he did. If he finds his peace in christianity... let him stick with it. its his choice not urs.

Great job man,, you definitly did him a massive favour.
Hearing about people who convert from Islam to Christianity just seems like such a massive step backwards.......

^ man are we “superior” than other religions or what?

i think ppl who think their religion is superior than others shud go to hell first.

Good job.
Just dont let it get to you head though,, if he doesnt revert, dont be disheartened.. coz youve done your job of informing, now it's upto him.

'Allah guides whom He wills and leaves astray whom He wills'.

You are not muslim?
If you are then you would believe that this person will achieve salvation and wordly happiness through Islam. If not then I can understand (and for that matter respect) your point of view.

Quran 3:19 (Yousaf Ali translation)

*The Religion before Allah is Islam (submission to His Will): Nor did the People of the Book dissent therefrom except through envy of each other, after knowledge had come to them. But if any deny the Signs of Allah, Allah is swift in calling to account. *

Comprehensively proving that one religion is superior to the rest. :flower1:

hain…then y would u believe in a religion which you dont consider as superior…i mean if i think that christianity is superior than islam then i’d be a christian and same goes with every religion…jeez

puhlease.. so now u r going to question my faith? right n he is surely going to hell if he becomes christian yet still remains to be a good decent person? i dont think so. i believe my faith and my relationship with God is my business and shud not be of anyone's concern . I believe that Allah is forgiving and it is His decision as to who goes to hell or heaven. I have seen so many so called muslims are worse than budhists or hindus.

maddy: Islam also teaches tolerance and humility.

Allah will forgive anything except shirk....

Suroor,,,, I was'nt questioning your faith, rather I was asking you a question. How am I supposed to know if you are muslim or not, there are lots of non-muslims on this board.

If that is your belief than good for you, but I respectfully disagree and don't have the time for a philisophical debate except to say I don't know if Allah would forgive someone who converts from Islam to Christianity.

"i think ppl who think their religion is superior than others shud go to hell first."

Suroor sis, whats wrong with thinking that our faith is superior. There is a difference between thinking the faith is superior than thinking we, personally are superior :)

JazakaAllahu khairan Takhay haray :)?

i guess i dont see the connection between thinking that your religion is superior and intolerance.

Suroor sis, surely we are not here to decide who will goto hell or heaven, its only Allah Ta’lah who has the power to make such decisions, but as someone said above, everything could be forgiven but shirk, and we all know every other eligion except Islam has this content of shirk as their basic beleif!!

Should we not be doing more study of our own Holy Quran with translation to understand what it preaches? If a muslim by birth (our brother in faith) had selected a path that is certainly leading him away from Allah’s mercy, should not we be doing something to help him out as Takha_Hara did?? Its that pain in the heart for our fellow berothers that makes us an ummat. I agree with you,we should not consider ourselves superior, but we are the followers of the pure Deen, there is nothing wrong in accepting that! :flower1:

Re: Re: Converted

Absolutely. Takha_Hara, great job. :k: May Allah mian bless you for steering this misguided individual on the right path.

Suroor, the objective is to provide the information, not cajol and force people into submission. The choice will be the friends ultimately. This guppie just provided the information and said what the thought was true from his perception. What is wrong in that? It is up to the individual to decide. This guppie did nothing wrong, though i find the statement that converting to christainity is a step backwards revolting.

But he did nothing wrong. He told him what he thought to be in his friends better interest and it is up to his friend to decide.

Think about the most suitable forum before posting threads Please.

You are absolutely right. Islam teaches that among other things. However in this case, Thaka_Hara felt that he should at least talk to the guy he had known and he did. His friend decided to read about Islam and Quran more. What Thaka_Hara did isnt againts Islam, as far as I know. Whether he accepts Islam again or not is entirely upto him and no one can force anyone to change their religion anyway. In the end its his prerogative.

I just bought him a book written by a "Christian". The book talks about the life of Muhammd (PBUH). It’s called "Muhammad (PBUH) His life based on earliest sources" written by Martin Lings. I have read the book myself. I am going to give to him when I see him today :). just pray ppl that he realize and start reading. May Allah give him taufeek

ameen :)
