Unfortunately this is not the whole truth.
Compulsion was used to convert non-muslims where ever Muslims defeated them. Perhaps the first generation of converts were inwardly unhappy, but the subsequent brainwashing of their children & their children by the mullahs in mosques ensured a steady growth of adherants.
Even the Sikh religious history is full of offers of pardons if the Gurus or their children converted. They were all put to death because they refused.
Compulsion was used by heavily taxing the non-muslims, the Muslim converts & their children were used in the army & for running of the state, Hindus being second class citizens were denied these job (ofcourse unless they converted).
The kings like Akbar who were secular - were the wise ones and with unity between Hindus & Muslims there was prosperity & happiness in the country. Aurangzeb tried to quickly & forcibly try to convert the country by harsh methods - all this lead to revolts by the Hindus and lead to the weakening of the Mugals rule.
There will be 1000's of history books saying that Islam was spead by the 'sword', yet most muslims want to live in 'self denial' and keep convincing themselves contrary to the truth.

The problem is that you cannot say that EVERYONE was converted by sword. A vast majority was actually not. Much conversion was done through initial missionary work.
Once people were receptive and open, the empire came in. Of course, you cite examples that might be true, but that doesn't mean the entire Islamic empire was won over that way.
Even to this day, conversions take place, and none of it is being done militarily.

Cite your sources for your claims...Not from contemporary crap artists but people who lived in that time...
Or do you think that Muslims wiped out each and every person everywhere so as to erase every bit of history?
And use yourself as an example: Let's say Muslims conquer India and they put a sword to your head to convert or die...Outwardly you convert and say that you did. Would you still teach your kids to be Muslims? Would the Mughals have placed microphones and bugging devices in your homes to ensure that you are a Muslim?
Wake up...There has never been compulsion from Muslims to any person on earth...If that was the case, there wouldn't be a single Muslim out there...
And for those who convert nowadays in Europe and the UK and the US, how many are being threatened to convert or die? How many armies invaded Indonesia, the most populous Muslim country? How many clashes happened?
Cite history from documented examples...

U r telling one side of the story too as my muslim brothers do.
In reality all the converts in any religion comes thru one of the following four reasons ( there is no other reasons)
1) "Kammal" that is perfection
2) "Ehsaan" that is provider/giver
3) " Ihtiaj" that is need
4) "khouf" that is fear
Islam divides faith and ibadaath nito three types and praised one is the " kammal" not "khouf".
So my brother no doubt there must be a conversion of that type ( that u are saying) but u r not looking at the other three reasons. so please look at the other three dimensions too and i agree with u on the 4th dimension, but coz not praised therefore must be minimal portion of conversion not 25%.

Malhot this is not the first itme you are showing your ignorance you have done it umpteen no. of times.
Other thing is that you dont go to anti-islamic websites to read about Islam but islamic websites and then compare it with anti-islamic website and then try to further analyze and then provide your view.
But you know who lives in extreme denial. Dont bother about anti-islamic websites, well i can get thousands but its not possible to make people like you understand and believe even if i get a time machine take you through a walk of 1400 years of Islam.

Surely the sword under the kalma on the flag of saudi arabia is not sending the right message. I could not find any info where they get their inspiration for this flag from.
