How one gets converted to Islam ?
What are the conditions ?
Do one has to change the name ?
Spouse must convert ?
If spouse decide not to convert, do one has to divorce ?
Is a covert better than a born Muslim ?
Do one has to register, announce etc with some authority / mosque ?
Can one convert withou going for 5 Mamaz at all ?

by declaring that there is no one worthy of worship except Allah and that Muhammad (saw) is his messenger

he/she must obey all that is commanded by Allah and His messenger

most ppl change the name to show the change of religion but in effect changing name is not required unless the original name reflects an slamic picture

no, everyone has his/her own free will....
however the valdity of the marriage is not a general thing....
Is a covert better than a born Muslim ?
no one is better in Islam than other except by his/her own deeds....
a convert can be better than born muslims who r not careful about their religion
and born muslims can be much better than converts if they r more God-fearing

it is always good to announce it to the soceity, however, if such conditions prevail that it is dangerous for u to announce ur acceptance of Islam, u can keep it hidden

no, namaz if compulsory as r other many things like fasting, hajj, zakat etc and anyone who does not accept all these shud not really bother about converting
if u accept Islam and do not do these things, u will be a sinner and will be punished for disobedience to Allah
