I wouldn't call it controlling if he stopped you from buying a $900 bag. I mean controlling as in your spouse checking your bill every month, not letting you buy even something that's not THAT expensive (eg. $100 purse), telling you how to dress when you go out. Even small things, such as don't cook this dish. What if he/she did this ALL the time. Would you get annoyed?
Oh yeah, I will be annoyed if he tries to control every aspect of my life. I do care about what kind of outfits he likes me to wear but I have a personal preference too.
