Every now and then, I log onto wikipedia to edit entries of Pakistani celebrities since many pakistani entries are poorly written (grammatical error, non neutral POV )and lack citations. I’d like to encourage Guppuns to do the same. I find it sad that pakistani personalities lack any web presence.
Word of caution, finding citations can be a challenge, as many of our desi sites aren’t accessed a lot and hence don’t show up in the google search results unless specifically searched. I usually search on google as follows:
[person’s name] dawn news
[person’s name] daily times
[person’s name] other pakistani newspaper / chowk/other pakistani resources
All those Pakistani personalities which are worth mentioning are in Wikipedia , only those who do not deserve to be , who did not earn any respect or do not have any kind of following are not in it.
Yourdidn’t get my point. I am talking about the quality of work and not debating whether an entry should be on wikipedia. As I mentioned earlier, the main concern with these is lack of references/ citations.

Here’s how I add references:
**Step 1
**- Find reference using reliable sources such as newspapers and websites . Copy URL
**Step 2
**- insert copied URL in either of the two templates below and paste it next to the relevant sentences

**Step 3
**-Scroll to the bottom of the article. If a reference section exists, add the following template: **{{Reflist|2}}. **If references section doesn’t exist, add the following:

Wow, its nice to see someone else likes to edit Pakistani pages too, i do it all the time :D .. and i agree there is a lot of work to be done. Many famous celebs need their entry made but like dooree said even the basic information like dob, early schooling, their parents's name can't be traced on google, which is whole point of wikipedia.
An interesting thing is many female celebs don't have their year of birth mentioned, even if they are married you only see the date and month, i don't understand why they hide it so much.. they are married already no body's gonna judge them or something.
I know people just looove watching dramas and many over here have brilliant writing skills, if they fancy publishing their hand written plots of dramas, especially the old ptv classics, it would be so helpful and increase the quality of Pakistani entries on wiki.
Nearly all the pages need proper tables for : (1) Drama and Films which that particular actor has worked in (2) Awards and Nominations they have received. I've started editing them, and it makes the page look much neat.
P.s. If someone has a portal of PTV awards which have been happening for past 16 years, and could put the link here, it would be highly appreciated.

1) Azfar Ali ( his website is MARVELLOUS, not many celebs do this and there are many newspapers scans available which can can be used for citation)
2) Shahood Alvi
3) Mohammed Ahmed - the writer
4) Nadia Hussain
5) Salman Saquib urf Mani - just noticed there is an entry with Mani and Hira, which is cute who ever did it but individual page for Mani is needed.
Don't these guys do it themselves or get their publicists to do it for them (or even their rishtedaars). Surely it would be more accurate coming from the horse's mouth? Shahid Afridi edits his entry himself, I heard..:)
^ It's pretty obvious when the ristaydaar's or friends make these edits, coz the language is unprofessional and violates wikipedia's policy on Neutral Point of View (NPOV) and there are zero references. normally such entries get deleted by admins :)
