Re: Contributions of Umayyad Caliphate
The worst thing that the ummayads (keeping aside Karbala) is dynastic politics.

Re: Contributions of Umayyad Caliphate
I think Makran and rest of Balochistan were treated separate units over a long period of history. Mir Baloch would shed some more light on the matter, but Makran / Balochistan was not India historically.
I know, like during different stages we see Punjab, Sindh and KPK aligned. Balochistan is not in the scene, they were maybe independent or part of Persian empires.

and it never ended. Abbasid who came to power on agenda of making correction in the system, touched high levels of monarchy and pompousness. It seems that message of karbala was probably politically hijacked.
Re: Contributions of Umayyad Caliphate
According to one YouTube video I was seeing the other day. With the rise of wealth amongst the Muslims some people felt that Islam is slipping away, that was the time when Sufis rose and they tried to bring people back to deen. There was a reason why they promoted simplicity.

It may or may not be true. I can't make up my mind yet.
Abbasids never said that they are rising against Umayyads because they want revenge for Karbala. Instead their main point was that khilafat belong to Banu Hashim.
Most Muslims at that time agree with it. They got help from common people because they thought they will give khilafat back to Aal e Fatima. But when Abbasids got power then they said WE (Banu Abbas) are Banu Hashim and we have more right to khilafat compared to Aal e Fatima.
So they did use the slogan of giving khilafat back to its rightful heirs for political purpose, but they did not say that they are doing it due to Karbala.
I read somewhere that Abbasids did even worse atrocities than Umayyads.
Re: Contributions of Umayyad Caliphate
As far as Umayyad contributions, yes they did contribute. Even Mongols had their contributions.
Re: Contributions of Umayyad Caliphate
Territorial expansion.

that was norm of the day not the contribution :)
Re: Contributions of Umayyad Caliphate
One of the most important contributions of the Umayyads was their development of a complex civil service, which allowed effective control over one of the territorially largest states in history up to that point. It was a model passed on to their successors in Baghdad, Cordoba, Cairo and Istanbul.
They also created the first professional standing army in Muslim history.

Ummayad were inspired of Romans or did they come up something new?

Their military model model was completely different to that of the Romans , so I think they came up with something on their own.
