Punjabis have made great contributions to Udru esp in the 20th century…the famous punjabi shaers and adeebs include
Faiz ahmad faiz
Hafiz Jallundri
Sahir Ludhianvi
Nasir Kazmi
Ahmad Nadeem Qasmi
Amjad Islam Amjad
Ibne Insha
Ahmad Faraz (?)
and many more…
Nazir Ahmad
Munto
Iqbal
Zamir Jaffrey
Sadiq Salik
Tarar
And many more
I don't think that Ibn Insha was from Punjab.
Nasir Kazmi was from Punjab? I thought he was from Karachi.
True. All of them have contributed in urdu literature, but what's the point of discussion here?

You dont have to be an "ahle zaban" to support the cause of urdu....and to show the great love punjabis have for urdu language contrary to what MQM says...

Col Muhammd khan ...yes (Soan Valley)
Shafiqur Rahman ...??? I dont think so...
Yaar Pukka Dessi, MQM says alot of things which simply fits into the category of STUPIDITY AND HATRED, so will you start more threads to prove something....?
Jak, don’t get so uptight man, the point of discussion here is to remind ourselves about the great Urdu writers from Punjab. Most of us living in foreign lands tend to forget our own literary figures, it is just a reminder. In all good taste.
If you fancy more literary discussion about any particular aspect of Urdu literature, don’t be afraid to cortex. I will personally walk you home, until the cows come back or the old lady sings.
yeah, sofi tabassam was such a cool guy!
thanks NYA....
