Contrasting sides of pop/rock in Pakistan

Hey, these two articles might be interesting read for those interested in Pakistan’s pop music scene.

They show the great contrast that exists between two ends of the spectrum of our local pop music. The first one, **Lush! An hour & 5.4 minutes with The Strings **, is about the mainstream pop band Strings who are enjoying great success these days, and the other one, **In Search of Improvisational Brilliance **, is about an upstart but much accomplished rock/fusion band called The Meekal Hassan Band. These guys are very very experimental and innovative.

There are a couple of other unknown bands lurking around in the underground music scene in Lahore and Karachi, waiting to get a break. But whichever way our music grows, it can only be better from this point onwards.

So what you wanted to See good has made you blind
And what you wanted to Be yours has made it Mine
So don’t you lock up Something that you
Wanted to see fly
Hands are for shaking No not tying
I sure don’t Mind a change But I fell on black Days
How would I know That this could be My fate
