Re: Contradictions

Ok ... So please explain why the thread title is contradictions yet the topic is about circular logic? Also, if something is circular is it deemed as being incorrect or untrue ...

Re: Contradictions

Let me help you ...

The man is good because he tells us to do good things. We know the things he tells us are good because he is a good man.

This statement couplet is circular ... Now, just because it is circular can we deduce that either the idea of the man being good or the instructions he gives being good are false?

The man may well be good for another reason ... And the things he says may well be good based on another factor ... In other words circularity cannot provide real answers, but at the same time a circular argument can be true, it just cannot constitute valid proof.

I have a definition of evolution that uses the word evolve ... This is circular, but I don't make a fuss over it. Circularity should not be used when someone is setting out to prove something to you ... Otherwise does it really matter?

Re: Contradictions

I am not aware of the circular logic in Islam. Do you know any? If so, please, state here one by one.
