I am working as a permanent employ in a company. I think I am over paid. But according to market I am little under paied. 40 min drive from home. I was planning to sattle there.
Very nice ppl, very nice environment.
Now This other company is interested for 6 month contract giving me hmmmm
2-1/2 time more per/hr.
This company is 15 min drive from home.
Stay perm dude. Avoid the charm of the high paying contract if you haven't already. Perm is what you want in these times.
I'm with Cheegs on this one... the economic downturn is the reason for me to suggest the risk averse option as well - unless you're in a profession where contracts are abundantly and readily available for the taking, I'd stick with a permanent job.
And my idiotic friends have been telling me "its rogers consider it perm."
hmm
But tell you the truth consulting is more fun. I would do after a year or so,
dude - Rogers has one of the highest employee turnover rates and lowest employee morale - and they're not that great with freelance/contractors either. I'm assuming you haven't researched into any employer ratings online.
In any case, I guess it worked out for the better I suppose.

No I guess I should learn those things too hmmmm
So decided, NO to rogers. I hate them any ways, charge me so much money for my cell phone.
I almost had a 1 yr contract with Rogers last January and i was desperate to get in because my ass was getting numb sitting at home all day. I was waiting to hear back from them but the hiring manager came back a week late from his winter vacay. And just a day before he asked me to join, another place offered me a position and i jumped at that. Looking back now i think thank God for white people and their long vacations.
