Contraception-advice needed

Salams girlies!

I’m sure that this topic has been discussed gazillions of times here on GS, but am to lazy to surf the net and thought I would rather pick your brains on this rainy (in the UK) day.

Update on my filmi story!
Dulha saab is in Paks in Feb and insha Allah I am planning on going to paks then too, as you will recall in this story, we both just know of each other and have never met. So, if all goes well in Feb, my future MIL will propose and I dont think my family will so no, therefore the wedding may be in April (as dulha saab is only free then!). My dilemma-what contraceptive do I take from here in case we do get married in April? Can I go to the GP and ask for a x month supply? I dont want to go into a pharmacy and buy random stuff as I’m too shy.

What have fellow Guppies done when they have married abroad?

Re: Contraception-advice needed

If you are from the UK your doc will give u a 3 month supply with each pack. I'd suggest taking it before u go to Pak so u know if u are suited to it or not. But that's your choice really. Go to your docs, your nurse should go through all the options available to u.

Good luck!

Thanks D2B. I am planning on making an appt with the nurse soon - just feel really shy going.

It feels really weird as I m stuck at the moment. Because when i meet the guy and we decide yes we do want to get married then its all going to happen so quickly, i feel a bit overwhelmed to say the least!

Make dua please my dear sisters!

Re: Contraception-advice needed

You can always take condoms with you...i have tried most contraceptives, and have found condoms the best because, then im not putting any additional hormones, chemicals or whatever other stuff inside of me, messing my mind, and body up...some stuff made me fat, some stuff made me real cranky, some made me depressed, some made me extremely moody.

The other things is to understand the calendar method too, it is very helpful, my husband and i have used only condom and calendar method for the past 3-4 years and it has been the best problem free.

Re: Contraception-advice needed

I understand that other sthings work for others, i was just mentioning what i had found in my experience....plus by using condoms, you shouldnt have any trouble when you do decide to start planning for a family (Inshallah), whereas with i have seen friends who came off of birth control pills when they were ready to have children and have a tough time.

Just one for girlies???

I refused to let my wife take any pills, injections, implants, devices etc etc. Simply too harmful (potentially) & it messes your whole system up.

I believe men should take responsibility on the contraceptive front.

Condoms it is - safe & easy to use - and dont listen to ‘oh, it doesnt feel the same with them on’ - they are really cheaper than before. I buy the myself - if you feel embarassed, just go to a slightly out of town store where there are no Pak staff! Cheapest places to buy in UK - Savers (£3 for 12) or Home Bargains (£1.49 for 12)

You can get them for free from family planning clinics, but I avoid them because its full of Paks, Indians, Bengalis & Eastern European gypsies - all with 23 kids each!!!

I find a pack of 12 lasts me a year :smack:

Re: Contraception-advice needed

:hehe: at the last sentence. I know I shouldn’t though :stuck_out_tongue:
