Anybody ever tried doing contouring on their owN? Bridal makeup always has it and most makeup artists will do it for party makeup if u ask..but for like everyday or when u do it urself, anybody ever done it? and how do u do it?
Re: Contouring
Hiya,
I'm a Beautician and i'm an expert at contouring and defining features - i dont beleive in the 'white' look where people just whack foundation and powder and bit of blusher - i love to define and accentuate a person's features - especially a person's nose and chin - it makes all d difference - u can see the difference in the pics.
You first need a good set of brushes - you need at least two brushes, a contouring brush and a defining blusher/type brush..... then you need some good contour powder (available from professional beauty suppliers) and some highlighter.
Each person is an individual so you cannot describe how to contour/define the face unless you see their features and assess what would look good...
Main points to remember are to use the big defining/blusher brush for sides of face, under chin and around forehead - and the contouring brush should be used for defining the nose area - usually a line of powder on each side of nose does the trick, but everyones nose shape differs so it may need to be varied how it is applied - highlighter can then be applied on the cheekbones, a light dusting of it on the forehead and on the bridge of the nose to give the face a more 'model-type' look..
Hope that helps.
Re: Contouring
Really depends what results you are trying to acheive.
Contouring is all bout dimming out your blah features and bringing out the good ones.
So say if a person has a really fat nose then a bit of dark contouring powder on both sides of the nose will make it look thinner in photos.
Same with jaw line, if the jawline is square then use the powder on places you donot want obvious.
Some people just use a darker shade of face powder or a matte brown eyeshadow.
Highlighter is used on features you want to stand out.
Like cheekbones, the part underneath the arch of your eyebrow and the front of the nose.
Experiment.
I find the whole process damn annoying
Re: Contouring
It really depends on your face shape. After a thin layer of base, I add some bronzer or slightly darker bronzer under my chin and the part under my cheekbones near my ear and the jaw line (I have chubby cheeks and this helps the face look a bit slimmer, especially when your base takes away the natural contouring by evening out all skin tone). I mix some bronzer and blush for under my cheek bones (or to create cheek bones). and i add a shimmery high light powder under my brows, at the tear duct, and a long the top of my nose.
Re: Contouring
yes an since i was a lil younger than u .. and for me thats agesss ago. they had this trend come out of blush in a fat diagonal streak.. that makes ur face look thinner slimmer
dark foundation on the sides of the nose makes ur nose appear thinner .. and same on the jaw bones will make ur face look smaller thinner ..
high light almost white foundation on the highest area on the nose in a vertical line will make ur nose look sharper which sara u dont need cose u have an awsome nose ![]()
inside centre of the lower lip in lightest shade of lipstick will make ur lips look fuller
silver or gold high lighter on the cheek bone under the eye .. yada yada yada
i wanna play makeup with some one nowwww
