Contouring/Highlighting

Hi guys, I was wondering if you use contour/bronzer/highlighter. If you do, do you think it makes a noticeable difference? What brands would you suggest? Do you have any tips for how you would apply them?

Re: Contouring/Highlighting

I mostly use bronzer, and occasionally highlighters [at night]. Both make a prominent difference as they add definition your facial features. The highlighter gives off a glow and a dewy appearance. As for the bronzer, it is used to give a tanner overall appearance.

Bronzers should always be** a couple shades darker** than your original skin color; highlighters need to be at least one shade lighter than your skin tone. The final look depends on how creatively you alternate them among different sections of your face. I personally use the highlighters that give off a transparent, sparkling shine - not glitter.

As for brands, I don’t know what your budget is. I use Dior Shimmer Star.

Re: Contouring/Highlighting

Yes, when it's a special occasion I always pack on the bronzer and highlight my skin. Contouring really makes your face appear much slimmer and gives more dimension. Whenever I contour, everyone asks me if I've lost weight. Haha little do they know it's makeup. You get a foundation 3 shades darker to contour and one 2-3 shades lighter to highlight. After doing that, apply bronzer to set the contour and to give you a tanner look. Then, apply a powder or liquid highlighter like Nars Albatross or Benefit high beam to give you a glow.

For areas to contour and highlight, try googling "kim kardashian contour"

Hope I helped!

it definately makes a difference.. i use a powder 3shades darker powder and foundation to my face for contouring and i use Mac soft and gentle which has some pink n silver and benefit girls meet pearls (hints of gold) gorgeous highligter

Re: Contouring/Highlighting

I use my bronzer all the time and I use a highlighter at night.
For contouring and creating a shadow, make sure your bronzer is matte.
My skin color is the exact shade of Too Faced Chocolate Soleil so I had a hard time finding a matte bronzer that worked since Chocolate Soleil is one of the darkest high-end matte bronzers. I could use darker foundation instead but that wasn't the best idea because on most days I don't even wear foundation....I just put on some powder and want to use a little powder bronzer as a contour.
Finally, I found The Balm's Bahama Mama.
Best. Bronzer. Ever.
And for highlighting at night, I use Sunbeam by Benefit because it's golden and works really well with my yellow undertone.
