Apparently these are quite popular in Europe but still are in short supply here in Canada.
I’d like to purchase one but don’t want to get it from abroad due to warranty issues.
Does anyone have any reviews?
Where can I get one here?

Re: Continuous Steam Iron
whats a continuous steam iron?
Re: Continuous Steam Iron
I LOVE LOVE LOVE mine! Can’t believe they’re not more popular in canada.
Pros: Cuts down ironing time dramatically. Especially if you iron shirts etc. You can also iron vertically as well. Plus you get a mini facial at the same time from all the steam :haha:
Cons: storage is a problem, they take up a lot of room and if you don’t have a permanent ironing station set up then it can be a hassle to keep getting it out and putting it away. They take a couple of minutes to heat up ready for use but thats never bothered me. Electricity consumption is apparently slighter more than your average iron (but perhaps offset by the fact that you don’t use it for as long as a conventional iron?)
If you do get one then definitely get the best one you can afford, with the best steam pressure. I have this one:
It’s worth its weight in gold ![]()
Re: Continuous Steam Iron

Re: Continuous Steam Iron
click on where to buy or ‘retailers list’
Re: Continuous Steam Iron
I LOVE mine! I have a Tefal steam generator (the same as britchick) . Once you start using one of these you will never go back to a 'regular' iron.
Re: Continuous Steam Iron
I saw a steam iron at Kitchen Stuff Plus for 20 bucks.
i think Pink'd Out has a steam iron as well...

OMG....that would be amazing!!!
Here's the glitch.....it will be a large box....are you sure she will have space in her luggage?
Also....I am assuming that you can get the correct voltage.....
Re: Continuous Steam Iron
Afshi......I am not talking about just a regular "steam iron".....I already have two of those. This is a very different product.....it provides "continuous steam". Ibrahim used it somewhere at a friend's house and he said that it reduced ironing time by more than half.

Steam generator irons, or continuous steam irons, consist of a traditional-looking iron unit connected by tube to a water tank/steam generator. They produce significantly more steam than regular irons, and manufacturers say it's possible to cut your ironing time in half with a steam generator iron.

Orpheus.......the link you posted does not show the same product that BC mentions in the product listing. Weird since the manufacturer is the same.
And $320 is worth it.
Re: Continuous Steam Iron
dang muzna.. u burst my bubble... we use 220 here ... :( i shall try to find a 110 for u... but doubt it.... denmark uses 220 voltage and so does arabia thats why i totally overlooked the 110 v that is used in canada america... let me see ok.. :)
Re: Continuous Steam Iron
yeah…see if you could get 110 then we’d be laughing…
even Ibrahim can’t get his hands on a 110 volt one in UK else he would have brought it from there…
but thanks so much for the offer! ![]()
I have the TEFAL one too and i love love it...doesnt take me longer than 2 minutes to iron my clothes...definitely a good investment!

Re: Continuous Steam Iron
according to hubby "Rowenta" is not a good enough brand to invest this much money in......
I am thinking Sears must have a decent satisfaction policy so I should at least give it a try. Unfortunately the product specifications are so shabby....doesn't tell how many bars of pressure.
The T-Fal one has 4 or 5 bars of pressure.
The DeLonghi has 3.5 bars of pressure.
Read this review of the higher end Rowenta model:

Steam generator irons are very common in Europe (where I am from originally) and buyers are provided with extra information that to my mind makes a huge difference in the purchasing decision. In the United States, however, few models exist and compete on the market and this data may not be so helpful as there is not much choice besides the Rowenta line (of 2). I suspect consumers iron less in this country and make more use of cleaners' services. However, I thought I'd share the information I found for the benefit of European buyers, more sophisticated buyers or more thorough minded buyers.
Rowenta was kind enough to give me the information I was looking for after some inquiry with their technical department. Here it is: the steam pressure is 4 bars (pretty good) and the continuous steam flow is 90g/min (so so for steam generators). I was not given data for the steam boost output which is important for a deep crease removal. The heating time at start is 3 min. The machine does not have auto-calc cleaning.
Top of the range pressure ironing systems in Europe now have 5 bars of steam pressure for fast ironing (pressurised steam penetrates deep into fabrics making ironing fast and easy, even on difficult fabrics) and at least 120g/min of continuous steam output for fast crease removal. Steam boost blast is around or above 170g/min. Heating time is 2 minutes and the system has an auto cleaning program for calc. deposits.
To my mind, this Rowenta product performance criteria are in line with its price. I am very seriously considering purchasing it.
I hope this is useful. Happy ironing :-)

Even after paying upwards of $350 I will only have 90g/min of steam output.
Re: Continuous Steam Iron
Go for the one with the highest pressure bar, otherwise it defeats the purpose of having continuous steam if the steam isn't powerful enough to blast out those wrinkles.

that's exactly what I am getting at......the power is the main thing.
no use paying hundreds if it is not powerful enough.
