A tad off topic but ...
The better Judge is not the one who can sentence when a law has been broken, but rather to sentence in accordance to the bounds of when a law can or cannot be broken.
True Islamic Governance is height of Islamic understanding and thus political ventures should not be undertaken by the poet (emotionist) nor by merchant (sensationist) but by the philosopher (people of reason).
The Qadi status is what is required i.e. at least a dozen of them before Shari'ah should be attempted.
Islam is not divorced from politics - though it may be from the modern/media definition of this term.
