OVERALL THEME
Outfits for all three days (mehndi, shadi, valima)
THEME: “Splendor and Sparkle” 1. OUTFITS
Mehndi - As much as I love the yellow mayun/mehndi dulhan, I loved this outfit and look the first time I saw it. I love her braid and the funky and traditional style. So pretty!
Shadi - This was a tough one, but this regal Bunto really has it all – color, kaam, style, etc.
Valima - Love the colors, kaam, and style. It’s so rich and unique! Not sure what the actual outfit is like, but I would wear it as a dhaka pajama, for something different.

2. Invitations for all three days**
I know it’s cheesy, but I’ve always liked the idea of having the same design in different colors (and shapes/sizes) for each event and sending it out as one fabulous set of invitations. Below you can see the look for the shadi invitation (deep pink) and the valima one (blue). I would want a bright green and yellow version for the mehndi. The card would be printed with letterpress writing on textured paper. These designs are from: Wedding Paper Divas
3. Bridal suite decor for the wedding night

4. Photography
I really like the attention to detail and drama by Asim Soofi.
He has the photojournalistic style balanced with great close-ups and framed shots. He’s captured important people at key moments and his photographs really convey the feel of an event and the emotions behind it. I can’t copy-paste from his site, but if you click on the above link, you can see a pretty extensive portfolio which shows how he seems to anticipate the moments of significance and beauty during a wedding, particularly a Pakistani one.
Outfits for all three days (mehndi, shadi, valima):***
Mehndi - Always thought I would pick something in yellow for a mehndi bride but I am loving pink at the moment so my choice is going to be pink for this event, complete with a ghoongat and a fat dangling batwa :). Since I don’t plan to lift up the veil for the entire ceremony, I am opting for anklets, toe-rings and kolhapuri chappals.***

Shadi - It was always red & Lavender in my mind, so I chose this one but would really prefer it with a diferent gala & shirt front kaam, like the 2nd pic. ***

Valima - Coral & Turquoise are the only colours that I want for the valima. I would probably ask or a statement back rather than the one shown. ***

Invitations for all three days:***
Love the motif so the card woud have inserts in yellow & honeysuckle for the mehndi and Coral & Turquoise for the valima.
Nothing very pricey or expensive but would add a little gold tassel to it to primp it up.
3. Bridal suite decor for the wedding night: Won’t compromise on this one! I want curtains of flower garlands surrounding the bed and rose petals scattered o the walkway till the room and along the sides of the room. Candles placed everywhere esp. i front of the dresser mirror. And he better do it! My sister is calling it tacky and over the top but I really really want it.
Photography style for the events: leaning towards Rammal’s Photography and Digital Art Hubfor now, but I would probably make an album of the poses I want in my album. I want someone can capture the emotions of my parents and siblings around me. The almost falling tear in my father’s when he glances at me, the glazed look on my mom’s face when she is caught sneaking a peak at me. My little sister giggling at the thought that she’ll get a whole room for herself and my elder sister worried out of her wits trying to calm everyone while pouring intructions down my throat. Ofcourse, hubby’s shy looks as well (Yup, he’s the shy one in the relationship!) The photographer should be my eye and see whatever I cannot.
5. Stage decoration for all three events:
Mehndi - A colourful event with a diya wall along the stage sides and flower laris at the low jhoola/sofa like the 1st two pics. The overall look of the sides and floor would be like the 3rd pic. The flower canopy would be the entrance.
Shadi: I would add hits of red & Lavender but the stage would look like the 1st pic ad the walkaway would be like the 3rd pic.***
