Where can I get information on contemporary Pakistani Artists, in various media..print, sculpture, calligraphy.
I recently ran into some work done by Cassim Mapara, who did charcoal skecthes among other things and the work is very interesting.
I know that arts council in karachibused to have exhibits off and on, is that still a hub of art?
Ashraf Coreja is a pakistani artist living in the united states. I found his work formidable.

Fraudz, Arts council is no longer the only place which caters to the needs of art and artisits. In the last decade, there has been a proliferation of art galleries in Pakistan, particularly in KArachi. Chowkandi Art Gallery, Momart Art gallery, VM Gallery that hosts most of the exhibitions by the contemporary artists, Mohata Palace hosts such exhibitions as well and Gallerie Sadeqain....
Majmua is also pretty well known and Kunj also has art pieces from Iran,Bangladesh and other countries.
But unfortunatley art galleries only cater to the need of a particular class...
