sooo…a rishta just came and checked me out without his mom being present as she is out of state, and his job is in my state. anyways…when asked what his opinion/desicion was the answers was that its not a confirmed no or a yes, basicially his family are waiting for their mother’s opinion and then they will deliver their opinion…soo is it ok to contact the person in question or leave it be? contact would be via social networking site / phone etc. other rishtas are being considered for me right now as well…is it desi appropriate for a girl to contact her prospective without a confirmed yes, especially when other ristas are in progress as well, with this being the only one I met thus far…

It is usually common for the girl's side to wait for the answer from the boy's family.. they can take as much time (some of them reply as late as after a few months, when they could not find a better match :@)... silence is considered as a NO... the girl usually do not contact unless she already knows the guy... the girl's family can contact the guys side (if they like the guy and are thinking to finalise the rishta some where in order to give a last try to that particular rishta)... but its better to wait for them to contact themselves.. after all.. the girls side has a respect tooo :)

just wait if you can because if they didnt contact you that means they arent tht interested. If they really like you and stuff then they will contact you. If the guy is interested, he can add you on the site.

Keep your prospecting going and if you click with someone else finalize the rishta. If this guys mother does not approve you then you will loose other prospects.
Since they have their options open so can you , why not ?
It is neither immoral or impolite. If they had approved you and you approved them then it will be immoral and impolite to keep on prospecting.

ok its just that he's from pakistan i thought they're may be a cultural barrier...moms going to be out of country for a little while shes going to canada hence the delay...i can't be searched on social networking as that is blocked, and he doesn't have my number. but i guess its culturally not appropriate?

the guy hopefully won't be contacting u by himself (unless he wants to know more about u, wants to spend time with u etc etc.. which is not considered very desi)... personal contact by the guy is not considered appropriate if it is the 'arranged' thing... they guy's family would contact ur family in case they wanna proceed further... thats how things are proceeded in desi way...
