can people who wear them please share their experiences, wud u recommend em? any problems of infections or anything?

I have been wearing them for the last fifteen years...No infections if you keep them clean and disinfected and get the soft ones, the hard ones are a nuisance. Don't go for the prolonged extended wear which u can usually keep wearing or a week, they have a high chance of causing infections. I have een wearing daily wear (bausch and lombe) for 12-15 hours daily...no issues...

Yeh, Contact Lenses are a god send.....I HAVE to wear hard ones due to a specific problem, and they are great when they behave...but they can cause a great deal of scratching of the cornea...as I find out often.......when this happens it's really debilitating...your eye swells and you get bright RED eyes....horrible.
This week, my optician gave me soft ones to wear under the hard ones to cushion them......great idea in theory..........but they were ok for the first few days...now they hurt again
Annoyed me last night when I had to watch Salaaam E Ishq with ONE lens which kept blurring!!!!
I haven't had any infections so far alhamdu lillah..........like Noree said, keep them cleam be careful about washing hands etc....
If wearing hard lenses......I would recommend using lubricating drops often something like Refresh contact is really good....................

I wear them now and again - and thank God i havent had any serious infection. However i find if i wear them more than 10 hours continuously then my eyes feel hot/itchy and get red...other than i take a lot of care in cleaning them properly.

i’ve been wearing contacts for about 10 years (
- i can’t believe it’s been that long!)
and i haven’t had any problems so far. i find them a lot more comfortable than wearing glasses, and if you get the right kind and clean them daily, you shouldn’t have any problems with them.

Most opticians I have spoken to (only spoken to a few) do not recommend it, and neither do my health professors. They wear glasses.
Had a lecture the other day on eye infections and stuff. shudder
Anyway, obviously it doesnt affect some people, its upto you, do your research well and then decide, is my suggestion.

ive been wearing lenses for a while now too- almost 5 years or more. i've never had any issues, thank goodness, nor do i know anyone who has. they're simple to put in, you dont feel a thing, take 'em out at night, dump them in the little cases with cleaning solution and voila! you're all set for next day. its the simplest thing in the whole world.
i'm more concerned about laser eye surgery, personally. anyone here had that?
munni, why don't those opticians you've spoken to recommend lenses? could it be that theres not enough of a profit margin on lenses like there is on glasses? :p

yeah i think most short term lenses are meant to be worn for 8 hours continuously. then they do get dry and you need to put in eyedrops. same thing happens if you sleep in them. either that, or they’ll fall out. but then you wouldnt sleep with your glasses on, why would you sleep with your lenses on, right?
my brother got the long term lenses and he can leave them in for up to 2 days i think or even longer, without taking them out, and he can even sleep in them.

i use disposable lenses and they are quite good.The only thing u need to take care is don't let them dry and wash them daily.

…and damn do they sting when u have too much solution…:(…it proper stings…but if u get someone to put em in for u…they actually behave

i am in states.. i was wondering how much colored contacts without power cost in pakistan.. or is there a website that sells contacts without having to have a prescription done first

they are ok as long as you don’t wear them forever and ever and ever. basically 8-10 hours, for me atleast. after that i can’t really stare. my eyes start to go 
also, i find that if i look at the computer screen or the TV or anything that is projected, it also begins to bother my eyes.
take good care of them. clean them properly every day. best option IMO is bimonthly’s.
oh also invest in eyedrop solution. life saver. and when you get them, as the lady or the guy to give you good instructions as to how to wear them and take care of them. and let me know what he told ya

if u wear them for 2 long ur eyes go all red and blood shot not a nice look. i always used to wear hazel

Don’t worry, You’ll be OK with contacts…to tell you the truth I’m going to get colored contacts(after I beg my parents, that is:hayaa:)…maybe a really light brown or Hazel:D…probably Hazel thought:hmmm:…My eyes are already light brown:layd:

for some reason, clear contacts are much more comfortable than color contacts..duno y
