I’m going to Pakistan on June 6th…with school, moving out and an extremely tight budget (omg shopping for Pakistan =| )…i will not have the time or money to buy contacts from here.
What are some good places to buy contacts in Islamabad/Pindi? How long does it take to get them? What’s the price? Are they horrible quality or do-able? I basically want them to wear at my BILs wedding and other events like that. Not gonna be using them daily or constantly. Any help/tips will be appreciated…thank you
I used to get mine from Tanti Optics in Islamabad when I was a teen :/. They were pretty good quality. No idea how much they are now. (or were then for that matter)
S_Punk - I don’t know how it is in the US but in the UK, if you go for a contact lens check-up and ask to try a certain brand of lens, they will give you a few trial pairs for free. If they do something similar over there, you could ask to trial some dailies to get a few pairs.
S_Punk...are you talking about non prescription or colored contacts? Or prescription?
I wear the ones Stoppit linked above, and get them from Sam's Club for like $23 a box (bi weekly). That's less than $50 and since I most wear my glasses at home and work one box for each eye lasts me about 4-5 months....as long as you have a valid rx, it's pretty economical.
And definitely try to get a sample pair or two from your optometrist...I usually get one at every yearly eye exam
Hmm, stoppit and khatti that is awesome advice except my optometrist doesn't offer free samples =/ Plus every time i order from him it takes about 4-6 weeks for contacts to get to me. Khatti, do u go to private doc or some place like Lenscrafters etc?
I was hoping that the prices in Pak would be cheaper but also more that i'll be spending 3 months there so getting a check-up and ordering them won't be a problem.

I used to go to the eye doctor at LensCrafters but now my insurance has changed so I go to a private optometrist. You can also order contacts from 1-800-contacts and get them really fast (in a week) and pretty cheap too
