Shakills, i’ve bought lenses from pak, from shahalmi and from liberty, and they were really crappy quality.
The lenses I brought here were absolutely fine.
Some people just cannot bear to hear anything slightly negative about anything relating to Pakistan.

I will happily accept anything valid against Pakistan, in this case if the lenses were made in Pakistan.
lenses may be crappy, but again they are not made in Pakistan, I am only saying buy the brand you know. If you buy that brand in US that will still be crappy, you cant blame Pakistan for this, but your choice and the manugacturer!!
Shah Alami is cheaper cause its a wholesale market, Liberty is on the posh side charges more for the same lenses. which may be of poor quality, cheaper price gets you cheaper quality mostly. plus I think market purchasing power doesnt allow top notch lenses in Pakistan. very few will have quality lenses.
again tip to be on safe side, buy the brand you already know, from Pakistan or anyother country.

Shak Kills, my optician in Karachi had recommended against contact lenses from there because (and admittedly this was a few years ago) he said the ones they had were East Asian manufactured - South Korea, Taiwan, etc.
He said the ones manufactured in the west were higher quality and that if we could afford it then we should buy them there instead.

i've been using lenses for 8 years now. not daily basis but for some hours speciely on functions. i 've a problm when they r new the dont disturb but after 2 or 3 times of using they hurt my eyes..thats why i stop using them from last year
now my brothers wedding coming and i dont want to attend it with those awfull glasses.
any suggesion for a good and tested brand easily availble here in pakistan?

i have been getting mine from pakistan since last 3 years. they are perfectly fine and i never had any problems (they are reusable ones...dont know the brand). got them from shah-aalmi market in lahore for very cheap (cant remember exact price but very cheap).
i have heard that reusable contacts should be changed every six months but i have been using mine for more than a year now and no problem so far. (maybe any side effects will emerge later on :) )

in that case you should go for one day disposable contact lenses. that way you will be using the pair of contact lenses once only. gets your tested if you dont have prescription and take the prescription to any lens shop in shah-almi market or any other market and they will make it for you. i have tried and tested lens from shah-almi thats why i am suggesting that. make sure you tell them that u want one day disposable ones and get your self 3/4 pairs for each day of the function.
