So , if milk is consumed in the form of tea or milk shake or yoghurt etc .. does that change its properties and health benefits? If someone has two cups of dood patti, every day, would they still need to drink a glass of milk as recommended ?
Re: Consuming milk
ugh milk. ![]()
I don’t think you need to calculate the consumption separately…ja tau usi aik pait may raha hai na..
Re: Consuming milk
Is a glass of milk still recommended?
Re: Consuming milk
well , its not recommended for a specific purpose but generic diet. Like we should all be having a glass of milk a day kind of thing. But since they dont enjoy drinking milk , they consume it as dood patti twice a day . Hence why I asked if they should still have the glass of milk or is that dood patti enough..
Consuming milk
You don’t have to drink glass if milk everyday unless you have hit menopause or suffering from osteoporosis then it is recommended
You are putting more carbs and sugar in your system, not to mention more caffeine. Other than that, I checked on Google, and every thing else remains the same
Re: Consuming milk
I think the thinking is changing around that. A lot of medical professionals have questioned whether dairy should be a daily part of our diet.
Re: Consuming milk
The body excretes greater amounts of calcium if you have caffeine in your body which nullifies the effect of milk. So maybe milkshake or cornflakes would be a better source.
ps. I love milk. I don’t understand why people don’t. ![]()
Also I heard that caffeine dehydrates you.
I love milk, though I don’t drink it everyday
Re: Consuming milk
I dislike milk. I love yoghurt. So if I’m in the mood for calcium I eat plain dahi or flavored yoghurt. Did I mention I don’t like milk?
Re: Consuming milk
Mmmm milk!!! I’ve heard that adding chocolate to milk diminishes the benefits of milk. Don’t see how…but oh well.
Re: Consuming milk
=\ gross
Re: Consuming milk
I love milk
Not the fat free stuff. Real milk with 3,5 % fat

Please no doodh pati, tea, coffee, blah ![]()
Re: Consuming milk
isnt milk supposed to be a complete diet? just like an egg.. I guess most people have it for that reason and not just for calcium.
I agree caffeine can have a negative impact on the milk content.
Re: Consuming milk
I think things like yogurt, cheeses, etc are probably sufficient. Even our pediatrician said not to worry about milk intake after the first year, as long as the kid was getting dairy in other forms.
Chai/coffee are a different issue because of the caffeine. I’m not sure how that affects the calcium and vitamin D.
Re: Consuming milk
Caffeine reduces nutrient absorption in the body. That is why even when medication is being taken, or , when we are particularly on a healthy diet, coffee or chocolate and soft drinks are shunned .
Re: Consuming milk
According to one of the Hadith Milk is a complete meal (diet) so no question in it. Even there is dua for drinking Milk
I dont know about drinking separately or what but I also drink dood patti but at night i usually drink a glass of milk
