History is full of people who raided weaker and plundered everything that came on their way. But there are people, who did some constructive work for public welfare. Built roads, inns for travelers, water courses, etc.
lets talk about such rulers in this thread who were more constructive than being destructive.
I start with Sher Shah Suri, who got India’s rule by defeating Mughal emperor Humayon and started wonderful projects like G T Road.

Akbar was the most constructive amongst all Mughal emperors who followed actions of Sher Shah over his long rule of almost 50 years

Rulers all around the world do return taxpayers in form of public welfare projects, but in our part of the world it is spent of foreign delegations

Chandargupt Mauriya’s grandson Asoka started a lot of public welfare projects. It is believed that the route which was later converted in to GT road during Sher Shah Suri’s period was initially made by Asoka.
