Can someone tell me how much is house construction cost in Karachi? We have land and want to construct a house. I am not talking about a palace, just a modest home.

What you consider modest? a modest house can run anywhere from 1kUS) to 150k(US). Depending on what you want.
How many rooms you want? How many washrooms? stair cases? flooring? the number of floors? All these things must be thought of.
Im not sure about the cost of BUILDING, but according to houses iv seen for sale, i can guess. For instance, a completed house in karachi (near hyderi) with full kitchen, living room and family lounge on each floor. In addition each floor has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. Costs 100kUSD.
Someone might think of a MODEST house as 3 bedroom, 1kitchen, 2washroom, living dining combo… which will cost about 30k(USD) easily to make…considering you own the land.
If im right about your concept of modest, it shouldnt cost you something over 70k.

The costs associated with the basic superstructure is not much of a variable, although if you decide to put structurally correct foundations, that will take about 40% of the superstructure costs. The real costs are for finishing (includes paint, bathroom fittings, woodwork, windows, kitchens, plumbing, electricity, stair case etc) which vary widely depending on your taste and selection.
The above estimate includes both labor and material costs.
