If the difference is between feudal and middle class, then that exists everywhere. You have to fill that gap by providing education and giving opportunities to exploited poor ppl instead of degrading / rejecting the whole community and making separate provinces by bifurcating Sindhi-Muhajir.
The difference is connection to the city. Someone born and raised in a place is more sincere to his hometown than others. It is only natural.

Karachi has had MQM mayors only twice. Once Farooq Sattar (88-92) and then Mustafa Kamal (05-10). These periods do not add up to 20/25 years.
This is a fact which you probably did not know very well. See list of Karachi mayors. Mayor of Karachi - Wikipedia
Secondly, most of these 20/25 years, Karachi has been under commissionerate system, meaning indirect control of the city by PPP waderas from Sindh. The only time MQM was effectively ruling the city was when this system was abolished. And that is the only era when Karachi actually saw development in DECADES.

Cannot disagree to that,
MQM has in govt for looongggggggggg time and have enjoyed all forms of govt, local, provincial and federal, yet there is very little they have done to improve the situation there, as a matter of fact, they have used killing tactics at when and where basis, May 12 or anytime feel like killing since PPP govt came to power ( PPP has to share the blame for not tackling the issue, Missing Benazir here).. and now when they left the govt for good, 100+ go killed... this is MQM for you.. we thank our stars that MQM is not in Lahore.. otherwise the city might see the same fate...

Just being in government does not mean to have powers as well. For example, MQM threatened the PPP government several times in the last 3 years. Reason was that PPP government not listening to any of their demands.
BTW, can you remind us in what different governments has MQM been in power?

Let’s say it is true. Now if basing a province on ethnicity is such a bad idea then why was NWFP renamed “Pakhtunkhwah”? Why not “Khyber” only?
And why does Gilani talk about making a “Siraiki” province?
Gilani has announced to include Saraiki province in the manifesto of the PPP to lessen the problems of people of South Punjab.
People don’t have problems with Saraiki province but everyone gets pis*ed off as soon as Karachi province is discussed.
Gilani wants to make Saraiki province to “lessen the problems of people of South Punjab”. Then why doesn’t he want to do the same for people of Karachi?

Glad we’re being honest now.
You’re creating a false analogy between a province named by the British Colonials and named after geographic coordinates - Pakhtunkhwa was an historical name for the area. Unlike Karachi which already has a historic name. Besides KP was a name change issue not a “new” province.
As for creating new provinces based on ethnicity – I am opposed to that, whether its “breaking up” Punjab into three provinces or creating a Karachi province. If we need to create new provinces, they should be done on an administrative basis. Speaking creating new province EVEN ON administrative basis - can anyone prove that they are more effective? I’d like to see an article or two.
