My father and a couple of other people from his generation (non-Muslims) who I have spoken to, believe the cartoon controversy has been masterminded by the CIA to further vilify the image of Muslims in the world, and to further polarise the east from the west. Furthermore, it is an attempt to bring the traditionally peaceful Nordic countries such as Denmark, Norway and Sweden into the American camp in the war against terror, and set them up against Muslims. Through this whole saga they will be able to say, "see! how bad and jaahil and violent these Mozlems are! come join us in our war against terror". And unfortunately, the predominantly uneducated protestors will play into the hands of the trap.

The argument also emanates from the US-backed pro-mujahideen war against the Soviets in Afghanistan.

ths cia overthrew mossadeq in iran...and installed the shah...9/11 was instigated by the us...the way in which that plane swerved in to the tower was not done by some amateur pilot like Mohammad Ata and co, but was clearly the work of an experienced military pilot---its even argued that the planes used were us military planes...!!! there was a documentray on this...sumin like "in plane site" or sumin...
