What exactly are you paying for in this case? Is it more than just a subscription fee?
I remember the days when it was free to play online. I guess the publisher needs to charge to make money. If the paying to play online is a flat fee, then it wouldn’t be so bad. However, when on top of that publishers can charge money to play online, that’s where it becomes a pain.
Apart from free games that XBox Live Gold members could get, they also had discounts on stuff. However, with someone who has as much time for gaming as I do, I’m not sure I could really justify it.
