Consistently Consistent

The media always seems to contradict itself.
I remember Ramiz saying during the 2nd one day that Taufeeq has been reserved for test only.

^ I know what Umair is talking about. I read somewhere that Kamal and Taufiq would be concentrating on tests from now on.
I don't totally agree with the criticisms of Yassir. I think he is the best young batting prosect around in a while. But Farhat has stolen is thnder a bit lately. Don't, however, he decieved Farhat did'nt come from no where. I recall him hitting 170 something in a PCB tryout series and still no getting selected for the team a few months back.
The measure of all these players will come when they play outside of Pakistan on unfamiliar pitches.

Ok i will take your advice and start watching cricket more consistently.

yeah he has played only in Pakistan but a 44avg is a 44avg. Dude is solid and from what i have seen from i think he will be a top notch batsmen in the future, in the world. When pointing out those names i was trying to say that he is probably one of the few batsmen who was called up to the Pakistan team and has been here to stay and made a name for him without even playing 20 matches.

Yeah he has been able to make a name, and where do you read I say he is a bad batsman. All I saif was he has a problem with fast rising balls and it could only be proved if I was right or wrong until Pakistan plays outside Pakistan agaisnt fast bowlers.

Yasir Hameed is by far an attacking batsman, and I wasn't surprised to see that he had a hard time playing pull shots against Oram and Tuffey today.
As long as he can keep his wicket intact in the first 20 overs and bats with a decent strike rate, I don't mind.
But his century was a little slower then a usual ton.
Usually when a batsman carries his bat throughout all 50 overs, he usually goes on to score 150+.

It is difficult (and seems unjust) to write against someone who has performed with such a consistency lately. However, I tend to partially agree with LM on Yasir Hameed. I am not sure if Yasir is susceptible to pace but he does not move his feet while playing outside off. This goes unnoticed on placid sub continent tracks but will become a problem on seaming wickets in NZ. Secondly, he also has a tendency to go after each and every ball. Sometimes he even plays shots on balls which would otherwise be declared as wides. Again, this habit can be risky on wickets where ball is moving. He is, otherwise, a very talented player. I just wish and hope that Miandad is giving some batting tips to the youngster. Afterall, Miandad is one of the most successful batsmen against NZ.
