What was an unthinkable scenario a few years ago is being discussed now in every home in Pakistan, a possibility that will not go away by closing our eyes, or by waving our fists in a rage on an invisible enemy that has played an immaculate game, employing our own rulers, our own protectors and our own weaknesses in general to defeat us in a battle ground that we laid down for it with a passion. Our nation has been and is being used as pawns on a grand chess board, a dispensable live commodity whose blood paints the surface for the players of international stature.
Lack of statesmen ship and political wisdom on the part of our political and khaki leadership has made this task as joyful as downhill slide on a surface of polished ice for our enemies. We have lost control over the course of events; lost power to decide for ourselves, we are like a man lost in woods suddenly loses his eye sight also, a hope for the savior is the last hope, but what if our perceived savior is in fact a predator?
On home and external front our leaders have been amazingly ambiguous, indeterminate and enigmatic; statements pertaining to very important issues from the highest quarters of ruling alliance never resonate with a statement from another high rank office holder. We sign peace accords with so called terrorist and next day break them on the command of our foreign friends, we want peace without giving it a chance to prevail, we want gun to be negotiator of harmony, we want love to be cherished and practiced in pool of our own blood.
Pakistan has become a permanent “pit stop” of international bigotry; every so called power, regional and beyond, has opened up a shop where they sell their own interests, the bigger the business the more buyers it attracts, behind every shop stands a common purpose, a common perception and a common agenda. None of them is our friend, none of them is working to strengthen Pakistan; none of them wants a strong and prosperous Pakistan, an Islamic state with nukes in the heart of Asia.
There are many players involved in the quest to balkanize Pakistan, many devils in the skin of angels, many wolves in the skin of sheep, many herbivorous who hide their K9, till their prey becomes a cadaver, the smell of resources have attracted these predators across the waters of Atlantic.
