It is stricltly hypothethical Question whether single people even consider some one who are trying to obtain resident visa so they can furthur pursue their Medical Profession?

So what you r saying is knowing they are studying to become a Doctor alone is not enough for you, you have to know the family!

One of my friends had a rishta like that, the "baat" was going to be set to "Pakki" but then the dude found out that the girl was trying to get a visa just so she could become a citizen. And this girl was also very good looking and compared to my friend she would've dumped him as soon as she got her nationality.
What I mean to say is that my friend isn't a very good looking fellow :).

i know two couples who's husbands were students and later married to to get a visa and 10 years after they are happily married..depends on the individual how sincere they are in their relationships.

no harm in considering marriage with someone who is on student visa. they will eventually have to apply for a spouse/settlement visa anyway if whether the student gets married in uk or goes back to their home country.
you just need to look at whether the person is genuinely interested in you and is a good person.
rules have changed a lot....even after your marriage and you are in the country living with your partner you still have to demonstrate that you are living with them as a spouse before you can get your hands on nationality/british passport/citizenship.

Yeah I'm glad he didn't take that risk, cause that girl was like total party type material not marriage type. And he found out that she planned to dump him after she got her nationality. So I'm glad it all worked out for him in the end.

It depends...not everyone is here to get residency. But not all are sincere. If you know someone then its worth a shot.

too bad for those girls from pak who marry in the west then.. their visa takes ages to arrive. a friend has been married 2 yrs but stuck in sri lanka, unable to join her citizen canadian husband. :(

I married my husband (about a decade ago)who was in the US on a student visa.It was a known fact that I would file papers for him after getting married.
I did nots ee anything wrong with it at that time nor do I see anything wrong about it now.
But,if that was the only reason he wanted to marry me (or any other US citizen),so that he can get a GC or become a citizen,then that is a different story and I know that it happens more than we think.
I guess every situation is different. Having a student visa should not be a deciding factor for a potential good rishta.
